Thanksgiving on SermonAudio

Has God been good to you? This is a good conversation starter when we meet someone who rejects his way of salvation. He has been good to us even when we have willfully rebelled against him. And he changes us from 'spiritual Canaanites' to 'true Israelites,' by the Spirit.

The sermon explores the profound significance of the Lord's Supper as a visible proclamation of the gospel and a covenantal meal inaugurated by Christ. It emphasizes that believers are invited to this table solely by God's grace, drawing parallels between the Passover deliverance and salvation through Jesus' blood. The message highlights the communal nature of the ordinance, warning against selfishness and affirming that partaking unites the church in fellowship with Christ and one another. Furthermore, it presents the Lord's Table as a glorious foretaste of the future wedding feast of the Lamb, offering hope and thanksgiving for eternal life. Ultimately, the preacher urges the congregation to view communion not as a routine ritual but as a blessed opportunity to remember Christ's sacrifice and anticipate His return.

"For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin." David did not hide the sin that rotted his flesh — he confessed it before a holy God who chastens what He loves. The LORD is nigh unto the broken heart, and far from the proud who cover their sin and call themselves covered forever.
