In the latest episode of the That Eurovision Site Podcast, I was part of a collaboration with other Eurovision podcasts, such as ESC Insight, The Wind Machine Podcast, The EuroWhat? Podcast, Niall Points, 12 Points From America, and Douze Points. The theme of this collaboration was countries first-time hosting Eurovision. We covered Denmark, which first hosted the contest in 1964 in Copenhagen.
During this episode, Molly, Kittens, and Daniel gathered together to discuss lost media, Denmark’s hosting, and how the contest has evolved from 1964 to the modern day, as well as how it has changed over the years. Molly gushes about Italy, Daniel gives us lore about what was happening in Spain and Portugal and how this played into the 1964 contest. Daniel teaches Molly and Kittens the wonders of old-school Eurovision.
What are your opinions of Eurovision 1964? What do you think of the Podcrawl? As always, be sure to follow ‘That Eurovision Site’ on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Threads and Bluesky as we start gearing up for next year’s Contest!
