All generations have inherent differences from each other.  Gen X, Y, Z, Boomer, etc. have stereotypes while, not 100% accurate, tend to ring true across most members of the group.  Developing an understanding of both your own generation, and those surrounding you, will help you to understand motivations and ideologies of your co-workers, supervisors and subordinates.

We've all heard that it's a marathon and not a sprint.  When I was 25, all I could think was what an old person thing to say that is.  Hopefully this episode will keep you from getting fired or indicted for trying to run too fast before you know what you're doing.  Hopefully it will keep you from dying young because of your choices.  Let's last a whole career, should we choose.

Traffic stops are the meat and potatoes of most proactive patrol officers.  Let's accept that we can all get better and we don't have it down to an exact science.  I hope that some seasoned professionals or motivated rookies drop me some tips that I can add to a more advanced version of this podcast.  

Let's get better at traffic stops so that we are not constantly stopping and searching the innocent, so that we are spotting the guilty, and consistently catching the criminals that are victimizing our neighborhoods.

Arguably this most challenged exception to the 4th amendment.  You can absolutely search someone's phone / house / car / person / Instagram / etc if you are given a VALID and VOLUNTARY consent.  Listen to this to expand your knowledge on what the rules are, and how to avoid having a bunch of evidence suppressed in court.
