That Love Podcast presents: Hello From Ireland - The Complete Series, an audio romantic comedy set in Vancouver.
Show Summary:
Hello From Ireland is a romantic comedy podcast that follows the story of Owen Keane, a young man from Ireland who travels to Vancouver, Canada to settle the affairs of his late grandmother. Owen expects his trip to be quick and uneventful, but his life is turned upside down when he meets Fiona, his grandmother's fiery housekeeper who is six months pregnant.
At first, Owen and Fiona clash as their personalities are complete opposites. But slowly, despite their bickering, a connection starts to form. Owen gets entangled in Fiona's complicated life - her messy relationship with the fathers of her unborn child, Jeremy and Stuart, and her loneliness without family. As Owen extends kindness and support to Fiona, she lets her guard down. The chemistry between them grows, though both try to fight their developing feelings.
Just when it seems like Owen and Fiona may start a romance, Owen learns that his ex-girlfriend back in Ireland is pregnant and the baby could potentially be his. Owen is conflicted but Fiona convinces him he needs to return to Ireland to find out the truth. Their goodbye is emotional as the depth of their feelings for one another becomes clear.
With Owen gone, Fiona spirals into despair, pining for his return. She doubts she'll ever see him again. After being rejected by Owen's ex in Ireland, who claims he wants nothing to do with Fiona, she reluctantly accepts a proposal from Tim, a boring yet dependable suitor.
The day before Fiona is to marry Tim, Owen returns, having learned the baby wasn't his after all. He wants Fiona back and is dejected to find out about her impending wedding. Fiona is angry at Owen for being gone so long with no word, but underneath still loves him.
On the day of the wedding, Fiona realizes she's making a mistake marrying Tim. She breaks off the engagement in dramatic fashion, with Tim insulting her and revealing his true sexist, superficial nature. Owen steps in to defend Fiona's honor in front of everyone.
Finally alone, Owen explains to Fiona why he was gone so long - he was caring for his sick friend and dealing with his ex's betrayal. Fiona expresses that she can't be with someone who has one foot out the door. Owen replies that she and her son are his family now and he's staying for good.
After so many missed connections and misunderstandings, Owen pours his heart out, telling Fiona she's the missing piece he's been looking for. Fiona admits she loves him too and they kiss, ready to start a life together.
With support from Jeremy and his meddling but lovable mother Veronica, Owen and Fiona seem poised for a happy ending, despite the challenges life will inevitably throw their way. Their imperfections make them perfect for each other.
Hello From Ireland is an addictive, steamy romance that keeps listeners invested in each character's journey. The push and pull between Owen and Fiona is enthralling as they struggle to let down their walls and accept they've found love. Their chemistry leaps off the page and into your ears!
