Todd leads a discussion with the Next Step men concerning six factors that can negatively impact our mental health.
We invest in things in order to get a return. We invest our money, time, and efforts into people, places, and things in order to make our lives better. How are your investments? Are you getting a good return on the people, places, and things in which you are investing?
Join Todd as he teaches the men at Next Step Recovery Ministries concerning 10 practical things we need to do each day for our success. This is a follow up lesson as related to how our attitude impacts our success.
Listen as Todd teaches PART 2 of a class on good, sound decision making processes. Each day we make hundreds if not thousands of decisions. Some decisions are small (what color socks will I wear today). Some decisions are enormous (should I marry this person). Our decision making can and will determine the path our lives will take. Our decision making will determine whether or not we give into the temptations that are set before us. Listen to Part 2 and improve your decision making process.

This podcast was recorded at Next Step Recovery Ministries in Macon, Georgia. During this lesson Todd is teaching and interacting with the residents of the Next Step Recovery program.
Todd discusses cultural influences that are causing our children, teenagers, and college students to struggle with mental health issues at levels that are not seen among other parts of the population. These influences have a direct connection to addictive thinking and actions. We are setting our young people up for an addiction crisis that will far exceed anything we are experiencing today.
We are emotional creatures. God created us that way. But many times our emotions hijack our brains and this causes us to make bad or sinful decisions. How do we handle a hijacked brain? How can we control and manage runaway emotions that cause us to make decisions or say hurtful and wrong things. Listen as Mike and Todd discuss this important issue.
When a person struggling with addiction comes to you for help, understand that he or she sees help differently than you. Addiction breeds entitlement. The addicted wants help but they typically want it their way. The addict will dictate and demand the solution, and will become angry and upset when you refuse to give them what they want. Mike and Todd define entitlement and then provide a couple of cures for the entitlement mindset.
Join Todd and Mike for Part 3 of Coping Skills. Listen as Todd and Mike go into detail on how journaling, exercise, work, hobbies, serving others, fellowship, and godly counsel can help us cope with life's curve balls. Coping must begin with preparation. We must prepare our minds ahead of time to cope with life's challenges. What you do today will help you cope with the unknown challenges of tomorrow.
