Beau and Dave recap SymfonyLive London 2014 in their first live in person recording.

That's right, Beau and Dave are back! After what turned out to be a whole month since their last episode, the spend some time catching up on a bunch of things that have gone on in that time. Most importantly, Dave explains why dogs need passports. Who knew? Plus some other techy things. They keep it a little shorter than usual (only an hour and a half, yo!) on account of Dave not feeling so well. Also, Dave quits That Podcast because nobody has ever used his awesome voicemail app. Oh wait, no, that is a lie. He didn't quit. The other part was true about nobody leaving a voicemail, though. It makes them both sad. 

Beau and Dave give updates on all sorts of things. So much so, they manage to not even get to the topic they actually expected to talk about. Fun times! 

Beau and Dave discuss having been selected to Symfony Live London and how they

plan to bring their families with them so everyone can hang out in person for

the first time. Beau discusses his other upcoming talks including Nomad PHP EU

and php[world] and Dave talks a bit about his pair programming setup. Both agree

that rewriting code from another project is a great way to really understand how

the thing ticks.

Beau and Dave discuss Beau's recent exploration into the DDD world, leading him away from ORMs and into Events. 

Beau and Dave have their first guest, Paul M. Jones, who asked if he could join

them to discuss their thoughts on his Action-Domain-Responder pattern after they

mentioned it on the previous episode. In addition to discussing ADR, they

discuss Paul's book, the process of writing a book, and similarities between

writing books, blogging, and talks for conferences.

Beau and Dave recap their experience of launching That Podcast, Beau discusses his php[tek] experience, both discuss Paul M. Jones refinement on MVC (Action-Domain-Responder pattern) and then get down to discussing their experiences as lone wolf developers.

This was a quick technology demo we did in order to test out the recording process. It is a nice bit of legacy so we keep it around to remember where we started.
