This is especially true in the our careers as veterinary professionals.

Maaike is a wildlife veterinarian working in Namibia. Though it presents its challenges, there is no job she would rather be doing and the excitement she has for it is absolutely clear.

In today's episode, Maaike shares her personal experiences of working as a wildlife vet. Additionally she talks about her passion project of working to stop animal poaching and the role vets play in working with the local communities to not only protect their  livestock which is their livelihood, but the wild animals around them.

I had such a fun time talking with Maaike and learned more about wildlife veterinary medicine in the process.

Aviv is a final year vet student from Israel who has spent the last 6 1/2 years earning her veterinary degree in Italy! I had a lot of fun on today's episode learning about the Italian education system. Additionally, Aviv and I shared our experiences about studying as international students.

Dr. Gary Marshall is a veterinarian and owner of Island Cats Veterinary Hospital @islandcatsvet in Washington state. Over his dedicated years working as a feline practioner, Gary has found a love of mentoring and is constantly looking for new ways of supporting the next generation of vets such as through preceptorships or connecting on social media.

Today I am excited to welcome, Danny Sack to QuaranTALK! A fourth year vet student at Cornell's vet school, Danny @Dr.dannysack is dealing with many of the same challenges that myself and other vet students have been faced with. From the cancellation of rotations and graduation, transitioning to online learning and wondering what our first few months in practice will looks like, there are a lot of unknowns ahead of us. 

Thankfully we aren't alone in these challenges and today's chat is the perfect example of why I love our VETstagram community so much. There is a lot of uncertainty now facing us as our final year rotations have essentially been cancelled. It's all happened so fast and neither of us know what our next move will be. For Dani, she's stuck in the UK and trying to find her way home. For myself I am weighing up the possibilities for finding a job.
