In the gospel of John, an all important phrase spoken by Jesus is repeated 7 times. Jesus repeats the words "I Am." When Jesus repeats those words He is declaring He is God. When Jesus said he was "I AM" in John 8:58, He was declaring Who He Is, I AM!.

JESUS SAID TO HIM, I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME. JOHN 14-6 ✝️

In Exodus 3:14 God said to Moses, 'I Am Who I Am.'" He did not say that was his name. He said, in effect: Even before you get my name, get my being. That "I Am Who I Am." -that I absolutely am-is first.

God gives us his name. It's almost always translated "LORD" in the English Bible. But the Hebrew would be pronounced something like "Yahweh," and is built on the word for "I Am." So every time we hear the word Yahweh or every time you see "Lord" in the Bible you should think: This is a proper name built out of the word for "I Am" and reminding us each time that God absolutely is.

In this episode I explain the meaning of I Am Who I Am in Exodus 3:14. God appears to Moses in a burning bush and tells Moses to go to Egypt to lead the Israelites out of slavery. Moses responds by saying to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, 'the God of your fathers has sent me to you,'and they ask me, 'What is his name?' then what shall I tell them?" God said to Moses, "I Am Who I Am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I Am has sent me to you'" 

God is the only One who can accurately describe Himself as "I Am." When God identified Himself as I Am Who I Am, He stated that, no matter when or where, He is there.

Children are gifts from God to families. In Psalm 127:3 it says Children are a heritage of the Lord, a reward from Him. Kids were never an afterthought. The original design of the family included children. Everything about creation was pronounced good, including his design for children. 

The word heritage comes from the root meaning "to get or inherit". It is an honor and responsibility to be entrusted with a little one from God. We stand beside him to shepherd their growth and development, to advocate for them, and provide for their needs while they're in our care.

Love is staying out of strife. In John 14:27 it says, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give to you; Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. There is a reason God said (My peace) NOT as the world gives do I give to you. What can the world offer in regard to Peace? And how can the world comfort a heart when it is troubled or afraid? Only God can give us lasting peace and show the way to Love. God is a God of Love, But He is also a God of justice. Avoid strife by walking as Christ followers and let love be your guide. 1 Peter 1:8 ~ "love covers a multitude of sins." It is the main thing.

Marriage comes with great joys and great challenges. One of the reasons for the challenges is because we have lost sight of the Biblical purpose of marriage. We have removed God and defined marriage in terms of happiness. But marriage exists to glorify God by expanding His reach throughout the world. 

To accomplish God's purposes for your marriage, you must be at one with your spouse and with God. Oneness happens as a result of believing that God has uniquely placed you together in agreement with God's will and with each other. The practical results are cooperation, unity and encouragement.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails.-1 Corinthians 13:7-8

"Love people and use things. Don't use people and love things. Somehow I think we have gotten that message mixed up in the rush toward technology. Keep the welfare of the souls of people at the forefront. 

Christians need to unplug from technology periodically. What would it hurt have a couple days without tv or cell phones and computers. Why not spend that time in soul refreshment. Reconnect to the natural world around us in a way that allows us to "be still" and know that He is God.

"Where are You God? When life is good we don't usually ask that question. But when hard times come I wonder where He is. It isn't that I don't know He will never leave me & that He works all things together for my good. I know I should trust Him, cast my cares upon Him and rest but when life is falling apart how do we do that?
