In today's episode Cody and Matt take a deep dive into the cold case of a trans woman Veronica Vano who was found dead at a motel in San Antonio five years ago. We look closer at two legislative bills that are advancing toward laws. One of those in Arizona would require parents to opt their children into sex education instruction, including instruction on HIV and AIDS, as well as sexual orientation. The other bill in Florida would ban transgender girls from competing in all primary, middle, high school and college sports in the state.

Cody and Matt revisit one of their early podcast episodes where they talk about Venus Xtravaganza. Venus was an American transgender performer who came to national attention after her appearance in the 1990 documentary film Paris Is Burning. Venus met a grizzly death at 23, when she was found strangled and stuffed under a bed in a New York hotel room. The case remains cold and with lack of DNA from the scene it is unlikely the death will ever be solved. Her legacy lives on though in the LGBTQ community.

The shooting in Lima, Ohio kicked off a wave of violence that led to the Governor calling in the National Guard. They were called in to assist the city police and Sheriffs deputies in restoring order after the shooting. Matt and Cody also discuss the potential for a male to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. We also touch on the latest when it comes to the Georgia voting law that was recently passed. The repercussions as major corporations come out against the new law.

A new UCLA School of Law study shows that a significant proportion of Americans believe that LGBTQ people are treated worse at work and school by co-workers, law enforcement, and healthcare providers. Cody and Matt also discuss the lates revelation that all Americans will have access to the vaccine weeks earlier than planned. This provides the roadmap to herd immunity in the United States. Georgia lawmaker Park Cannon won't face prosecution after knocking on Georgia Governor Brian Kemp's door during the controversial voter bill signing.
