That's My Story

I’m Ezra. Let me introduce you to Edie. Edie is my ex-girlfriend. I used to be in love with her. But, unfortunately, she let me down. Let me tell you the whole story from the beginning. I started going to my current school last year. Edie was on the swimming team. The first time I saw her was at an inter-school swimming competition. She was the most beautiful girl on the team. That was the day I found myself falling head over heels for her. Every morning when I woke up, I was telling myself “I will see Edie again today”

Unfortunately, my family broke up because of me. I had to make a really important decision. I thought about it long and hard and I think I made the right choice. But I’m still not 100% sure. Put yourself in my shoes when you listen to my story. What would you have done if you were me? I knew that my mom and dad were having some problems. This was all because of my mom. She couldn’t tolerate my dad at all. She snapped at him every chance she got. My dad is a very easy-going person. I’ve never heard him say anything bad. He’s good to the point of being naïve. That’s why I couldn’t accept my mom’s behavior towards him. But I could see that my dad loved my mom despite everything.

My name is Zoe. I’m fifteen. This is my sister, Daphne, who’s 3 years younger than me. I love her very much and I think she loves me, too. I mean, we’re sisters. But, unfortunately, Daphne is very jealous of me. Do you want to know why? Because I’m my parents’ favorite! Our parents love me more and that’s why Daphne is so annoyed with me. But please tell me one thing: How is this my fault?

One day in music class, our teacher, Ms Atkins, said, “Folks, we decided to start a band here at school. We have many students who play an instrument. And most are good enough to perform. The only thing we’re missing is a singer.” Everyone looked at each other. When Ms Atkins said, “Come on, guys. I’m sure some of you can sing. We can’t have a band without a singer,” I reluctantly raised my hand. I sang a song which everyone loved, and that’s how I became the singer of the school band to a round of applause.

I’m Constance. I’m fifteen years old. Two years ago, a billionaire family adopted me. That’s how I got this life I couldn’t even imagine having. Now, I’m going to tell you all about it, both the good and the bad parts. I’m sure you’ll find my story interesting.

I became super rich, but then my parents became jealous of me because of ho much money I had.

I’m Agnes. My life story is very interesting because I have something very few other people have. When I cry, I don’t have tears coming out of my eyes. I know it sounds unbelievable, but when I cry, tiny diamonds fall out of my eyes. Yes, I said “diamonds.”

I’m Gemma. If you’re my age or younger, you’ll probably think that what I’m about to tell you is unbelievable. For example, when your mom wakes you up in the morning, can you tell her, “I played Roblox until 4 am. I’m really tired. I’m not going to school today”? That’s exactly what I told my mom yesterday and she said, “Sleep tight darling,” and gave me a kiss on the cheek, my parents let me do whatever I want.

I’m Sheila. For years, I’ve been following my mom’s ridiculous rules. But I’ve had enough. Every family has rules. For example “Do your homework on time,” “Don’t eat in front of the computer,” “Turn off the lights when you leave the bathroom.” These rules are normal and I agree that they should exist. I wish our rules were like that. But my mom’s rules are irrational, illogical and totally meaningless.

I have a miraculous condition that is seen only in very few people in the world. When you find out what it is, I’m sure you’ll be very surprised and will probably wish you had it too. But please wait until you hear the whole story. I’m sure you’re going to change your mind. Because, as you will soon see, this is in no way a precious gift bestowed on me. It’s definitely a curse.
