Repentance is a very important part of our lives and our salvation.  We read in the book of Jonah 3:6-10, that God sent Jonah to prophecy against Nineveh, saying they He would destroy them. But they repented before God and God likewise repented. 3:10 says, And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

We as children of God, have God as our example.
