Vietnam War Vet Dennis Murphy continues his discussion with The 13th Apostle.

Dennis Murphy again joins the program, this time to describe some of his experiences—difficult and joyful—after arriving home from his tour of duty in Vietnam. The most compelling and moving experience surrounds a reconciliation with a combatant from the North Vietnamese Army.

Dennis Murphy was born in Philadelphia, a city whose nickname, "The City of Brotherly Love", perfectly describes him and his five brothers thanks to the efforts of his loving parents. From an early age, Dennis learned about the importance of sacrifice over personal comfort, from both his extended family and his Catholic schooling. This education would be put to a severe test after Dennis enlisted in the United States Army in the autumn of 1970, a time when the war between North and South Vietnam was still raging and which therefore brought him face to face with many casualties--including death--and much humility. The main thread throughout Dennis Murphy's life is his Catholic faith; and that, too, would be put to the test long after he returned from Vietnam.
