1988 brought one of the worst and costliest droughts in US history, causing almost $60 billion in damages and contributing to some of the worst blowing dust events. In addition to drought two record-setting heat waves that led to multiple days of 90-plus degree days. The heat waves led to the deaths of between 4,800 and 17,000 people. This week, host Regina Miller is joined by AccuWeather meteorologist Dave Dombek to discuss the record-setting heat and the conditions that led to a terrible drought.
