Paul Works is a contributor to the Advanced Squad Leader Hobby who has been doing so for a long time. He helped get the Kansas City March Madness Tournament going when Mike Reed (Episode 267) had to stop. Paul has a long and storied involvement with wargames and ASL in particular. He also works with the Navy and gets to play wargames there too. What a job! What an ASL contributor!
It's another great interview that you will not want to miss.

This show opens with some lovely letters and then an in depth look at Biazza Ridge from Advancing Fire. Our very special guest Mike Ryzy helps us to give a run down of how this new mini campaign works. It is more of a group of connected and related scenarios that can be traced on a large operational map. This fantastic new offering is sadly, sold out, at this point in time. You can still get the 2nd game from Advancing Fire; Brevity Assault, from their website and other retail outlets. We will provide a look at that game a few shows from now. Look for it soon.
Two back to back amazing interviews. Wow! (If we do say so ourselves).

You may recognize the name of Michael J. Puccio from an article on Paratroopers or one called "A Cavalry Primer for Neighsayers" published in ASL Annual 97. Or you may recognize it from one of the dozen or so scenarios he has designed for Critical Hit, Dispatches From the Bunker, Yankee ASL, or ASL Scenario 203: Hard Rok from Forgotten War; Korea. Even if you have not heard of Mike, perhaps because you are a Starter Kit player, or you are a random hit on this site, you still will very well enjoy having a listen. Check out the "Pooch" right here and right now.

Advanced Squad Leader. What a game. What a bunch of rules. We help you keep it all straight with a look at rule 10, Morale and a brief admiration of Carl Noriega's look at Heroes from a past issue of The Bunker. In the box this week is NorEaster Pack II fromYankee ASL and printed by Le Franc Tireur. Dave presents a breakdown of the first half of the scenarios. He has some fluidity issues with his new HP computer running video programs and the sound is a bit staticky/garbled at times. Apologies.

What a blast from the past, and a glimpse at the future. An interview with the marvelous Mike Reed of Kinetic Energy fame. Have a listen as Mike provides us with a look at the history of the Advanced Squad Leader world of Kinetic Energy Productions run by Mark Neukom and John Knowles. He also discusses the early version of the Korean War module that he worked extensively on but it never saw the light of day due do the copyright crackdown of 1996. Mr. Reed explains some of the early logic behind the design decisions about the rules governing the Chinese in Korea, etc. Mike was one of the original managers of the March Madness Tournament and designer of many scenarios in the early March Madness packs. Enjoy this blast from the past!
