Today's topic is The 2,300 Days of Daniel 8:14.

Let's start reading the verse of Daniel 8 14, which says: "And he said to me, "For two thousand three hundred days; then the sanctuary shall be cleansed." Miller understood that the purification of the sanctuary at the end of the 2300 afternoons and mornings would be the return of Jesus and, consequently, the destruction of evil by fire, purifying the sanctuary, the Earth. William Miller got the date right, but the event was wrong. Miller accepted the generally adopted opinion that the Earth was the sanctuary in the Christian era. Consequently, he understood that the purification of the sanctuary predicted in Daniel 8:14 represented the purification of the Earth by fire at the time of the second coming of Christ. So he concluded that if it were possible to find the exact starting point for the 2300 days or 2300 years, he could quickly determine the time of the second advent. Thus, the time of that great consummation would be revealed. The time when present conditions, with all their pride and power, pomp and vanity, impiety, oppression, would come to an end. In which the curse would be removed from the Earth, death would be destroyed. Reward would be given to the servants of God, the prophets and Saints, and to those who fear his name, and those who devastate the Earth would be destroyed.
