Tim Spradlin has done it all!  Firefighter, Fire Chief, Police Officer, Arson Investigator, Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, awarded a Bronze Medal, and has three degrees.  Despite all these achievements, Tim was depressed, drinking way too much, had family issues, and dealt with significant PTSD from all his experiences.

Saddle up for Tim’s journey from being addicted to achievements to becoming “ordinary Tim” and finding his true identity.

Episode 20 of APS Radio Features Dr. Jeff Burgess from the University of Arizona. Dr Burgess expounds on the recent announcement from the World Health Organization regarding the occupation of firefighting regarding cancer.

Dr. Burgess was one of 25 international experts that traveled to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) located in Lyons Paris this June to review the occupational classification of firefighting. On July 1st it was released that the occupational exposures obtained as a firefighter, has been upgraded to a Group 1 Carcinogen (carcinogenic to humans).
