The worst is yet to come, but so is the best. Jesus never promised the Christians in Smyrna and he never promised us that life would be easy. He never promised them or us that we wouldn’t face anymore afflictions in life. In fact he says the opposite of that, which is that more afflictions are coming. He says that the world is going to get worse before it gets better, but we need to be fearless and faithful.
