In this episode I wanted to help all athletes at every level. I want you to challenge yourself to be in a better head space for the recruiting process. It's going to be tough and it's going to require you to put in the work! Consistency is what will set you apart from every one else, talent alone will only get you so far. At the end of the day your future is in your hands, take it upon yourself to get the work done and do what you need to do to get where you want.
As we all grow up our views and thought processes might change and that's OK! In this episode I wanted to talk about "Timing" and why I no longer believe there needs to be a perfect time for everything. I used to always want things to line up perfectly before I would take the next step or before I would make a big decision... But now more than ever I am changing that thought process, now I am doing it if it feels right and not if it's the right time. Everything doesn't need to always line up because in this crazy life there is always going to be something that pops up. So instead of living only for the perfect moments that line up and everything is good, live for the now and what you have and what or who you love. You never know when those things can be gone.
In this episode I talk about the importance of being coachable as an athlete and why it's such a valuable skill. No coach wants someone who thinks they know it all, your willingness to be open to new skills and improving as an athlete is more appealing to a coach than someone who might cause tension and issues for them. Your ability to listen and learn will take you very far in sports and life! You have to be coachable!
In this episode I will share with you my new partnership with Signing Day Sports and why I am so excited about it! This app is something for all the Athletes and even College Coaches to help with recruiting. Not everyone has access to the big showcase tournaments or the money to attend college camps. This app allows you to be seen by coaches that you might not be able to get in front of otherwise. And for College Coaches this app helps you to find the exact athlete you're looking for! The Signing Day app allows you to break it down all the way from height to test scores, just simply hit the "search" button. This is a players and coaches dream, and I am so excited to share it with you!
In this episode I give you an inside look into my relationship with Alex and why we work. I explain how being open, vulnerable and communicating ultimately flipped a switch in my head. For a long time I didn't think marriage was going to happen for me, but she changed that.
Everyone wants to be successful at the plate but very few are willing to do whatever it takes. In this episode I go over my mindset in the box and what I believe helped with my success and consistency year after year. It's not always going to be easy, but if you're willing to always work at it you can and will be successful.
I hope you enjoy this super random episode that I felt impelled to talk about and share with you. I challenge you to be selfless, and see the whole picture and thank everyone around you in your life that makes your world go round. Are you showing GRATITUDE? Do you have a good PERSPECTIVE? Do you HAVE SOME FEEL?!?! Be honest with yourself, could you be a little better with any if those three things?
Back in May of 2019 I suffered a serious knee injury that would forever change who I am. I had no idea hurting my knee would make me rethink who I was and what I was capable of, but in the end it changed me for the better. And because of this injury I came out stronger both mentally and physically. Sometimes we just need to embrace what life throws at us and work through it.
A message for young athletes currently going through the recruiting process or athlete who will be going through it in the future. I'll be talking about my journey and what it took to be an elite athlete, but also the mentality and things I had to take into consideration while navigating the softball world.
Quick introduction to who I am and my goals for this podcast moving forward. I'm excited to learn and grow along the way, but more importantly I can't wait to connect with you! I can't wait to share what I believe is the Secret Sauce to life.
