Listen as we discuss the best performing stocks of 2019, a potential opportunity for investing in cybersecurity companies, and two ways to trade gold prices.
Regardless of the constant trade war headlines and the slowdown in earnings growth, this has been one of the best years for the stock market in history. The market, as measured by the S&P 500 ETF, SPY, is up almost 30%.
Each of the 11 sectors in the market are higher this year, but, by far the best performing sector is technology, represented by the ETF, XLK, which is up almost 50% year to date.
And when breaking it down further by looking at individual names, there are seven companies in the S&P 500 with returns greater than 90%, but semiconductor stocks AMD and Lam Research both stand out with gains well over 100%.

According to research from Accenture, in the last 5 years, the number of security breaches has increased by almost 70%, while the total cost of an attack runs a corporation about $13 million on average. So, if this continues... How can we invest in it?
Gold is another asset that’s done well this year... An ETF that tracks the price of gold, GLD, is up almost 20%, and has been climbing higher over the past month. But, GLD is not the only way we can trade gold.
