In this episode we eat on the question asked by the Phillippian Jailer in Acts 16, "What must I do to be saved?"
- Believe in Jesus
- Specifically what the Bible says about who Jesus is (John 20:30-31) and what He did (1 Corinthians 15:1-5). It is the gospel message which produces belief (Romans 1:16; 10:17)
- What if a person refuses to believe? (John 8:24)
- Confess
- Admit openly your faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9-10)
- What if a person refuses to confess? (John 12:42-43)
- Repent
- Since God is proposing to save us from sin, it makes sense that we do our best to avoid sin. This may include learning which behaviors God prohibits (1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Galatians 5:19-21).
- What if a person refuses to repent? (Luke 13:5)
- Be Baptized
- Who? A believer (Mark 16:15-16)
- How? Immersion in water (John 3:23)
- Why? For the forgiveness of sins (Romans 6:3-6), 1 Peter 3:21, Acts 22:16)
Examples: 3,000 in Acts 2, Ethiopian Eunich in Acts 8, Philippian Jailer in Acts 16, Paul in Acts 9 & 22.
