We chat about THREADS - the meta one but also sus the end of the video for a laugh. Weekly updates of my life... studio life, music chat and more.
I finally got this one uploaded! Some helpful advice about goal setting - we're challenging ourselves this week with some tasks to achieve before the next episode. It's an example of accountability, something that's really difficult for creatives who are self-driven. I throw down on the launchpad, more of that to come in future episodes.
It's been stormy and wet in Adelaide and had to take a break due to feeling like the weather - but we are back (including Luke) to chat about all things music and stuff we've learnt recently about TikTok, some tour advice annnnnnnd yes I have a launchpad in front of me so stay tuned for some real live launchpadding.
Some helpful insights into the DOs and DON'Ts of making a business from music. Making a living from music is not the hard part, it's understanding how value works (like any business) only this industry is led majorly by emotional people so tune in as we explain how to give value instead of chasing the dollars.
Updates on the studio, chatting about toxic productivity, what it is and how to overcome it. Join the discussion by asking a question in the comments
I wanted to be the first person to play a launchpad live on a podcast... did I do it? In this episode a recap of a show where things did not go to plan, I'm also joined by Chief Street and my manager Luke to have a chat about all things.
In this episode, we have a special guest, the talented Australian DJ, songwriter, and music producer, Godlands!
Godlands has rocked stages at some of the biggest festivals and events worldwide, including Tomorrowland, Festival X 2019, Party In The Paddock, and more. With her unique sound and impressive productions, Godlands has caught the attention of major labels. She has released music on Dim Mak Records and has an EP dropping on Monstercat. In this episode, we chat with Godlands about her upcoming music releases and tour dates. We throwback to her tour life with Steve Aoki (just as the pandemic hit), chat about Ableton, the music scene in Adelaide and Chief Street and I celebrate dropping music back to back (yesterday and today). If you have questions for us or Godlands, drop a comment below!
Meet Luke, he's my manager and the director of Global League Records. We had a chat, Chief and I, about Luke's recent trip to Ibiza for the International Music Conference. I also filled him in on the progress of the studio renovations and mentioned that I moved house. Chief and I are excited to announce that we're dropping new music next week. Additionally, we're experimenting with a longer format, opting for a less edited and more relaxed approach to this series.
So I tell the whole truth about the origins of my name - and how I am forever going to be stuck with a name that is mispronounced. Joined by Chief Street and Mr Merls, we chat about all things the music industry with some fun throwbacks. We are just getting started, and looking forward to introducing our first guest very soon!!
We discuss the importance of giving up on perfectionism (my biggest problem) and embracing the creative journey. We explore the idea that consistent and meaningful content creation requires artists in 2023 to document their process and engage with their community in a less formal way - keep it real.
