In today's episode we cover Habit 3 from Dr. Covey's book, the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: put first things first. 

This chapter starts out with two questions.  Just like the visualization exercise from habit 2’s chapter, the information for this is vital for the rest of this episode. 

The first question Dr. Covey asks is “what one thing could you do that you’re not currently doing that if you did on a regular basis would make a tremendous positive difference in your life?”

The second question is what one thing in your business or professional life would bring similar results?

Action Items:

  1. If you didn't do the exercise at the beginning of the chapter, go ahead and do it.
  2. Google the time management matrix chart from Dr. Covey and print it off. Tape it somewhere you’ll constantly see. Anytime an activity comes up, ask yourself which quadrant it is in.
  3. Knowing that 20% of your efforts will yield 80% of your results, what are you willing to say no to in order to move to more quadrant 2 activities.
