Last of Us 2 discussion starts at 16:30. We take a very deep dive into the very dark and sometimes depressing Last of Us 2 on PS4. We also talk about other Xbox memories growing up like Fable, and whether or not Halo is relevant today as growing development struggles become apparent with Halo: Infinite.
EYES WIDE SHUT Discussion starts at 32:50. Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman star in Stanley Kubrick's surreal last movie, Eyes Wide Shut. We review it as well as his early heist flick, The Killing, which is surprisingly modern. It's like Ocean's 11 but 50 years earlier. Also Killer's Kiss which was a thing. PLUS Zack Snyder gets a second chance to tell his version of the JUSTICE LEAGUE.
During the lockdown, we decide to begin a deep dive into one of the greatest directors of all time, Stanley Kubrick. We discuss his early attempts, shorts documentaries, as well as his most famous probably, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and what inspired us to start this series. Also, a special co-host sits in and does an amazing job.
We review the 10-part docu-series on ESPN, "The Last Dance", starring Michael Jordan as it chronicles their run of six championships in the NBA in the 1990's. That's it.
The new documentary series about the 1990 Chicago Bulls starring Michael Jordan finally makes its way to ESPN. I get a line from Jerry Maguire mixed up with one from Brokeback Mountain as we power rank out favorite 90's movies available on Netflix and other streaming platforms. Its great time to check out some of these older gems during quarantine.
This is the clipped out section of the ninth episode where we talk about Wrestlemania, the Superbowl of wrestling every year. Lots of secret wrestling fans out there and we are more casual fans. Drew McIntyre beat Brock Lesnar for the world title. The Undertaker literally buried A.J. Styles in a experimental short film type match that was probably the highlight of the night. Check it out!
We review the hit Netflix Docu-series Tiger King starring Joe Exotic himself, Carole Baskin and Jeff Lowe. Also we discuss why CATS was the worst decision anyone has ever made in the history of entertainment. Tidbits include Ozark S3, and the largest movie chain AMC could be shutting down for good, and a special Wrestlemania wrap up for any fans of sports entertainment that stick around for the end.
The crew reviews the most unsettling movie they've seen in "Midsommar", then go back to the 90's with "Scream" starring: Courtney Cox, Neve Campbell, and David Arquette.
Tidbits & News: Toy Story 4, Netflix's Spenser Confidential w/ Mark Wahlberg, TIGER KING TEASER, Greatest British Baking Show
We review the hit low-budget sci-fi/horror film THE INVISIBLE MAN, starring Elizabeth Olsen from Mad Men & Handmaid's Tale. We also do a mini-review of FROZEN 2, and talk about how the world is seemingly coming to and end. AMC and Regal Theater chains are already closing down until further notice and now studios have started to announce that new releases will be released digitally on demand. So expect more episodes while everyone is quarantined inside watching Netflix, Amazon Prime, and HBO. Stay safe everyone!
Ben & Aaron review the first season of Netflix's hit fantasy/drama series,"The Witcher," starring movie-star Henry Cavill of Justice League, The Tudors, and Mission: Impossible fame. If you want to avoid spoilers everything before the 17 minute mark is safe for new listeners and everything afterwards is a more or less SPOILERCAST! Our next episode will be on THE INVISIBLE MAN.
