He currently serves as Marriage and Family Pastor at Harvest Church in Billings, Montana. He and his wife, Shari, have been married for 37 years and have four sons and four grandsons.

Eric is also the founder of Gravitas Leadership Institute and a Townsend Leadership Program Director, equipping leaders to grow in both character and competency. His own adoption and reunion journey inspired his 2026 memoir, 38 Septembers, which explores identity, belonging, loss, and the healing power of discovering one's story.
