The Action Addicts

This week's episode is all about the Michelle Yeoh starring sleeper hit that is Everything Everywhere All At Once. Directed by The Daniels and making huge waves across the world as the independent film that could. My discussion touches on sensitive issues regarding mental health.

Today's episode is all about Tsui Hark's Time and Tide. Released in 2000 "A streetwise young man becomes a bodyguard to score quick cash. He befriends a disillusioned mercenary determined to begin life anew. They find themselves working together to foil an assassination attempt, but their partnership can't last".

Mike Scott returns to the show to help me dig through this excellent but weird film and we have a blast talking about the editing choices, the camera movement, the bombastic action sequences and if this was the last true Hong Kong golden action film.

Matt's back to talk with me about the low budget weirdness that is Guyver: Dark Hero. Director Stephen Wang's other big 90s project that isn't Drive, Dark Hero is the older brother that first saw Stephen team up with stunt/action coordinator extraordinaire Koichi Sakamoto! Metal Gear Solid fans also get a treat as our main character is played by David Hayter who voiced the character of Snake across several videos games for the franchise.

Today we are joined by returning guest Andy Gorham to talk all things Batman. Zap, Pow and BANG! From the Adam West through to Robert Pattinson. What we liked about the new film and what we hope to see next.

Today we are joined by stuntwoman, actress and champion fencer Kelley Poling. We sit down and have a fun talk about our thoughts on the industry, the skills she acquired growing up that prepared her for the world of stunts, her ongoing life in the world of acting and that time she toured with Madonna cutting carrots and putting on S&M gear. This show has it all!

In today's episode of the Action Addicts, we have returning guest Robb Antequera joining me to talk about Cyborg which stars his favourite action movie star Jean Claude Van-Damme! We dive deep into this Albert Pyun directed classic and also talk a little bit about JCVD's interesting career and some of the troubles he's had along the way. Considering the crazy story of how this film even came into existence, it's a miracle they got it made and that it's as good as it is!

Yes folks today we are back with another Antonio Banderas film but this time he is very much the star of the show. Robert Rodriguez's epic follow up to his debut film El Mariachi. Joining me today is aspiring stuntman Aaron Vargas who picked this film to the personal connection he made with it upon first viewing. Make sure you've got your beverage of choice because this is another long one guys.

Welcome this week's guest Lindsay Wilkins to talk about 2013's Action-Horror film Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. Lindsay is the host of the Schlock and Awe podcast and suggested this film after we got chatting. As this is actually a film I personally really like and enjoyed when it first released I was all too happy to revisit it and help maybe spread some love for this often overlooked unique version of the Grimm fairy tale.
