Pastor Shawn Owens continues his series on the Attributes of God. In this Episode, Pastor Owens preaches on the Omnipresence Of God.
“He is always with his believers. He is with us in the good, the bad, the hard, the lonely, the mundane, etc. He will never leave us nor forsake us! There is great comfort to the believer in regard to God being omnipresent. There has never been a time when you have been alone. All through eternity, God is there, and we will be in His presence forever!”
Matthew 18:20
“For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”
Many Christians today say this verse is referring to how the Holy Spirit will appear, when two or three believers are gathered to worship, read scripture, etc. But within context, we see how this verse is referring to church discipline and the Holy Spirit's role in it. This also reaches back into the Old Testament. In Deuteronomy 19:15 it states that a charge can’t be brought against someone with one person but must have the witness of two or three. Matt 18 is the same idea. If someone in the church sins or is in error they must be addressed with two or three people standing on the truths of His Word to which He will be there or be in agreement with.
