This week we read from Deut 8:10-19. God foresaw the land which the Israelites were about to inherit and knowing the heart of man, warned them about the possibility of wealth turning their hearts away from Him. Could it be that you and I could fall into the same trap of wealth? Where you're treasure is, there also will your heart be. As you gain worldly material, may your heart not be diverted from the Lord.

God's people in these last days are instructed to stand apart and be separate from the world. The last call from the three angels of Revelation 14 and 18 is to come out of Babylon so as not to share in her punishment. Look inward into your personal journey, are there associations with the world that keep ensaring you back into your former sinful life? It is time to be separate. Christ is even at the door. Let Him not find you not having the wedding garment.

Are you a creationist or an evolutionist? Did the universe begin by a big bang or was the power and creativity of the Godhead involved in an intricate working of design and life giving breath? In 1844, two opposing voices went out. The first angel in Revelation 14 went out proclaiming thus, "Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water." The second call was of Charles Darwin in his first essay, The Origin of Species, 1844. And these opposing gospels have always stood against each other. Daniel 12:3 tells us that those who lead many to righteousness shall shine like the stars. Christ has promised us crowns of victors. How will your crown look like? A bare minimum crown made of base metal or a shiny crown adorned with many stars? Think about how much in good works your heavenly treasury will contain when your work on earth is done. God is calling us into the battle field, not spectators on the sideline. Heed to the call and work for God while you still have breath. Be blessed and purpose to #IWillGo

How long till Christ comes? We have sang about His coming for years. All the signs Jesus mentioned in Mathew 24 are here with us in this present generation. Could the world realistically last another 200 years in its present condition? We are living in extra time, which means that Christ is even at the door. Wake up from slumber and light up your lamp as we wait for the bridegroom. Be encouraged, the wait is almost over. Amen.

In this episode, a very good friend of mine, Pastor Ida Kemunto talks about growing in Christ and abounding in His love even in the most difficult times of our life. The name Christian has the name Christ. John 1:12-13 says that we were born, not of flesh or blood, nor of the will of man but of God. We carry the greatest name in the universe. Do we represent Him well? As an Adventist, am I looking forward to the coming of Christ and preparing myself and others for that second advent.
