Welcome back to for our second ever Christmas episode of The After Midnight Podcast. This week we're joined by Luis Salgado to discuss the man who the holiday is named after, Jesus of Nazareth. In particular though, we will be talking about what could quite possibly be the only piece of physical evidence left behind linking us to the son of man, the Shroud of Turin. What is the shroud? Where was it found? Who found it? Is it real or is it an elaborate hoax? We break the evidence as well as the importance of the shroud on this holiday special.
On the eve of the release of the most anticipated movie of the year, Star Wars The Last Jedi, join myself and this week's guest Jay Black as I live out a dream and provide a commentary for the 2015 smash hit (and one of my personal favs) Star Wars The Force Awakens. Pop in you copy as we (and by we I mean me) gush all over Rey/Daisy Ridley, the awesomeness of Poe Dameron/Oscar Isaac, the comedy of Finn/John Boyega and the villainous Kylo Ren/Adam Driver. We even speculate on what direction The Last Jedi will go based on this movie alone. If you can't get into TLJ this weekend, just pop in TFA and give this pod a listen.
After a brief one week hiatus due to a cold, we are back with another new episode of The After Midnight Podcast! This week Pedro and I discuss the recent sex scandals rocking Hollywood. From Miramax mogul Harvey Weinstein to Kevin Spacey, what is it about these powerful types and sexual misconduct with women and in some cases, underage children? Have we seen the worst or is it still yet to come? Join us again next week as we conclude the discussion as we focus on Washington, the Lolita Express, child sex slave rings and spirit cooking. Are these cases of sick sex maniacs and pedophiles or is something more sinister at play.
We are back with our good friend Pedro Nunez of KLB Kayfabulous Lucha Bros. fame for episode #69 (HA!) to discuss the 1988 cult classic, John Carpenter's They Live starring "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, Keith David and Meg Foster. We discuss what John Carpenter was presenting in his social commentary from 1988 to how socially relevant this film in 2017's social climate. All that and the awesomeness of Keith David and Roddy Piper!
The only thing scary about this week's topic is how much this week's guest, Jay Black and myself loved the Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer. I've been dieing to discuss this trailer for about 2 weeks with Jay and he makes his return as we analyze, then over-analyze, then theorize what will possbly happen in the 8th installment of the Star Wars saga. Will our beloved Rey turn to the dark side? Will our dastardly villain Klyo Ren find his redemption? What is Luke Skywalker's role in all this? Will we see Captain Phasma wreck fools? What does Supreme Leader Snoke want from Ben Solo...or does he seek a new apprentice? We discuss all that plus tie-ins into the expanded universe via novels and Marvel Comics.
With no guest this week, we take a look at an ongoing murder case that was sent into us by listener Lars Christian Detlefsen from Denmark. In the middle of this mystery, an eccentric engineer named Peter Madsen who rose to local celebrity status for building his own submarine through crowdfunding and a young journalist with a promising future named Kim Wall. The two met on August 10th for an interview aboard Madsen’s submarine, the UC3 Nautilus. It was the last time Kim Wall would be seen alive. Kim Wall’s decapitated torso would be found almost 15 days later but what happened to her still remains a mystery. Why did Peter Madsen’s statements change over time? Did he murder Kim Wall or was it an accidental death? What caused the UC3 Nautilus to sink? How did Kim Wall become decapitated? We discuss all this and more.
Is this our last episode ever? According to online predictions, it just might be. This week we look at the Saturday, September 23rd Doomsday Predictions. What is causing it? What should we do? How many can we tolerate? Join me as I hunker down in a bunker, open up a can of beans and discuss what could happen. Hopefully we’ll still all be around next week.
Welcome back for Part II of our chat with SuperMarcey.com’s very own Marcey Papandrea & Bede Jermyn to discuss the legend of Annabelle the Doll. We go in depth about Annabelle’s original story made famous by Ed and Lorraine Warren and why it was only given only a 5 minute overview in the first Conjuring film. We then get very in depth and spoilery about Annabelle and Annabelle: Creation as well as the future of Annabelle once Lorraine Warren is gone. All this and more!
We are back after a two week break and we have SuperMarcey.com’s very own Marcey Papandrea & Bede Jermyn to discuss two tales that have been the inspiration for their very own horror movies. In Part I, we break down the events of the Texarkana Moonlight Murders of 1946, the inspiration for the 1976 horror film The Town That Dreaded Sundown. Who was the Phantom of Texarkana? Why did he attack the lovers of Lover’s Lane? Why was he never caught? Why were there police officers making out with mannequins? We discuss this and plus an #AMA!
Welcome back for Part 2 of our chat with first time guest Bruce Scheel on this week's After Midnight. We dive right into our topic for the week as we discuss The Dyatlov Pass Incident. In January of 1959, 10 hikers ventured into the Siberian wilderness for a camping excursion, that would the last time 9 of those hikers would be seen alive.Over the course of the next 2 months, those 9 hikers would be found dead with 4 if the hikers found with deadly injuries We break down the timeline of events with evidence provided by investigators. We then break down the possibly theories as to what may have happened in their last days, from a possible avalanche, to Russian military involvement to possibly even extraterrestrial involvement. We discuss what’s probable and what’s implausible.
