The energy crisis caused by COVID-19 and the Ukraine conflict has highlighted North Africa's reliance on fossil fuels and its economic and geopolitical vulnerabilities. However, the crisis also offers an opportunity for the region to transition to clean energy for development and equity. This podcast, based on the RES4Africa policy paper, prepared in collaboration with the Policy Center for the New South, discusses the aftermath of the energy crisis and a vision for a just energy transition in North Africa. The PCNS experts, Rim Berahab and Hamza Mjahed, share their contributions to the study.
