Book description:

Alfe came to the US as a bilingual Spanish immigrant, looking to make something out of himself and increase his self-worth. Having gone through emotional turmoil and the instability of growing up in a broken household, he strives to take control of his life. In doing so, he learns—through a lot of trial and error—an abundance of hardships and difficulties, what life truly has to offer, and the fundamentals of living life to the fullest.“A book for others who didn't inherit anything but gives a light that it's possible to make it with the right psychology and action.”A book that follows the story of Alfe, of how he grew through his life experiences, of the achievements he made alongside the mistakes, and of the failures and dark times he had to face. Alfe brings you the guide of writing a new blueprint of your life through a living example of his own, with which he endeavors to help people realize their life challenges and learn ways to overcome them.On the cusp of self-discovery and out looking for the ultimate catalyst to slot the final missing piece to your puzzle of self-awareness, You Are What You Think is a book that will prove to be exactly that—one that encourages the thoughts that dwell in the innermost workings of your mind; afraid to meet the light of day and of becoming a reality.

In this episode we will cover the topic of faith and self-confidence.

FAITH is the head chemist of the mind. When FAITH is blended with the vibration of thought, the subconscious mind instantly picks up the vibration, translates it into its spiritual equivalent, and transmits it to Infinite Intelligence, as in the case of prayer.

The emotions of FAITH, LOVE, and SEX are the most powerful of all the major positive emotions. When the three are blended, they have the effect of "coloring" the vibration of thought in such a way that it instantly reaches the subconscious mind, where it is changed into its spiritual equivalent, the only form that induces a response from Infinite Intelligence.

Love and faith are psychic; related to the spiritual side of man. Sex is purely biological, and related only to the physical. The mixing, or blending, of these three emotions has the effect of opening a direct line of communication between the finite, thinking mind of man, and Infinite Intelligence.

SELF-CONFIDENCE FORMULA

First.

I know that I have the ability to achieve the object of my Definite Purpose in life, therefore, I DEMAND of myself persistent, continuous action toward its attainment, and I here and now promise to render such action.

Second.

I realize the dominating thoughts of my mind will eventually reproduce themselves in outward, physical action, and gradually transform themselves into physical reality, therefore, I will concentrate my thoughts for thirty minutes daily, upon the task of thinking of the person I intend to become, thereby creating in my mind a clear mental picture of that person.

Third.

I know through the principle of auto-suggestion, any desire that I persistently hold in my mind will eventually seek expression through some practical means of attaining the object back of it, therefore, I will devote ten minutes daily to demanding of myself the development of SELF-CONFIDENCE.

Fourth.

I have clearly written down a description of my DEFINITE CHIEF AIM in life, and I will never stop trying, until I shall have developed sufficient self-confidence for its attainment.

Fifth

I fully realize that no wealth or position can long endure, unless built upon truth and justice, therefore, I will engage in no transaction which does not benefit all whom it affects. I will succeed by attracting to myself the forces I wish to use, and the cooperation of other people. I will induce others to serve me, because of my willingness to serve others. I will eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness, and cynicism, by developing love for all humanity, because I know that a negative attitude toward others can never bring me success. I will cause others to believe in me, because I will believe in them, and in myself.

I will sign my name to this formula, commit it to memory, and repeat it aloud once a day, with full FAITH that it will gradually influence my THOUGHTS and ACTIONS so that I will become a self-reliant, and successful person.

Most of us already live a limited life in this world, so why extend that limitation to our beliefs as well? If you accept a limited belief, then, eventually, it will become the truth. Limiting beliefs only serve to keep you in familiar surroundings; they are unconscious thoughts appearing as defense mechanisms to try and curb failure, frustration, or disappointments. These negative thoughts impede our progress toward our life goals. However, this does not need to be the case. Limiting beliefs can be overcome and replaced with more positive messages. You don't have to fall victim to their effects; you can change everything by changing your thinking.

The first step toward overcoming your limiting beliefs is to identify them. If you are concerned that there may be multiple limitations, begin with the largest one and then work your way from there. Recognize that your belief may be based on false assumptions, that it is most likely false and merely a belief, not a fact. You must question your belief now that you've realized it's just a belief rather than a fact. Put it to the test by asking questions like; Is this belief supported by evidence? What facts back up your claim? Have I always thought this way? What, if anything, has changed? Is there evidence to contradict my belief?

Many of these questions are intended to broaden your understanding of the subject. It trains you to think “outside the box.” When arguing against your own initial thinking, you may realize that it is not exactly what you were thinking, prompting you to shift your paradigm to something more positive and encouraging. You should be aware of the potentially negative consequences because holding on to the belief that you cannot overcome prevents you from passing through it, eventually depriving you of a better life.

We fail to achieve our goals because we never accept responsibility for our lives. Often, we prefer to believe that our circumstances are beyond our control and that things simply happen to us. This is known as an external locus of control, and it is a limiting belief in and of itself. To overcome your limiting beliefs, you must first develop an internal locus of control: the belief that life happens for you rather than to you.

Ultimately, your fate is determined by your own actions. Life is full of events over which we have no control. But, we can control how we react to them. We can control our emotions, learn from failure, make better decisions, and work toward our goals no matter what.

Actions such as positive affirmations present an excellent opportunity to combat limiting beliefs. They can help you transform self-limiting beliefs into positive self-beliefs. For example, if you're telling yourself you're not good enough for a promotion at work, reframe that belief by telling yourself you're a hard worker who deserves to succeed. This way, you can reprogram negative thoughts into positive ones. While this can be done in a variety of ways, saying these words out loud to yourself or others can help reinforce the belief.

Lastly, it's important to never give up when limiting beliefs arise. Remember that you are not alone. Everyone has limiting beliefs, including successful leaders, entrepreneurs, and the public figures you admire.
