Simone Seales is a classically-trained cellist who is tired of playing music by dead white men. They focus on free improvisation (both tonal and atonal) and devising music for theatre. Simone is passionate about exploring sound and how sound can reflect emotional states of being and how emotions are embodied. Their creative influences come from Black feminist leaders such as Audre Lorde, Assata Shakur, and Angela Davis. Within their creative work, they centre Blackness, sexuality, intersectional feminism, and anti-racism.

Ramon Alfonso (Chino) Soberano is a Filipino classical violinist who performs solo, chamber, and orchestral music. Starting at age 7, he studied under notable teachers in the Philippines. After earning his Bachelor’s Degree cum laude in  Violin Performance at the University of the Philippines, he headed directly to the United States and earned his Master’s in Violin  Performance at Western Illinois University under Dr. Julieta Mihai. He won WIU’s Concerto Competition and was awarded honorable mention in the MTNA Young Artist Competition, held in Chicago in 2015. As a graduate assistant, Chino served as a second violinist in the Julstrom Quartet, the resident faculty quartet at WIU. As a member of the quartet, he also toured throughout Illinois to perform and coach various high school orchestras. Currently, Chino is a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at Arizona State University, where he also was a Teaching Assistant, a member of the Herberger String quartet, and involved with IDEA, a student organization focused on inclusion and equity in the arts.

Guy Michel is a well-known professional cellist. He began his music career at the age of 5 in his native country, Haiti. Guy trained and established a foundation in classical music during his early years and continued his study in secondary and post-secondary education, ultimately achieving a Bachelor’s degree in Music.  In 2008, Guy decided to pursue a solo career outside of the classical music industry. Guy explored new possibilities with the cello by blending different musical genres together creating modern popular music with a classic twist. 

Guy has performed internationally throughout Ireland, France, South Africa, Spain, Portugal, and Haiti where he led music workshops. Even though Guy Michel is classically trained, he believes that music goes beyond Bach and Beethoven, or simply playing complex notes to showcase an individual’s talent. It is a form of self expression; A vehicle in which to awaken and stimulate the imagination. He loves exploring new possibilities on the cello with a repertoire ranging from easy listening to Hip Hop and EDM. There is no limit to what can be accomplished on an instrument. 

Over the years, he's developed a passion for yoga, fitness, and martial arts and has been practicing for the last 20 years!

This is one of my favorite episodes, and it was so awesome to finally connect with Guy. I'm not exaggerating when I say I've been following him on instagram for years and I love everything that he's doing!!

Dr. Renée-Paule Gauthier is a sought-after performer, teacher, and high-performance coach whose career has taken her across the United States and Canada as a soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, orchestral leader, and clinician. 

Dr. Gauthier is passionate about helping musicians unleash their performance potential. In addition to offering peak performance coaching, she gives lectures about practice and performance preparation to schools and organizations, and she hosts the popular Mind Over Finger Podcast. An accomplished concert artist, Renée-Paule Gauthier was mentioned as one of the "best violinist of her generation" and she leads a busy performance career. She is the String Area Coordinator, Co-director of the Chamber Music Program, and Violin Instructor at North Park University. Francesca Leo is a cutting-edge flutist, educator, and performing arts health advocate. She is the founder of www.playingwithoutpain.com, an award-winning interactive website and social media platform committed to connecting musicians with resources to treat and prevent performance-related injuries. Francesca is currently on the board of the National Flute Association Performance Health Care Committee and the Performing Arts Medicine Association Young Professionals Committee and serves as the chair of the Puerto Rico Flute Symposium Wellness Committee. She is a certified 50-hour meditation instructor and is currently pursuing a certification as a licensed Body Mapping Educator. Francesca holds a masters degree in flute performance from the Manhattan School of Music and a bachelors degree from Bowling Green State University.

Classical new music specialist and voice teacher Shauna Fallihee loves all things teaching! Shauna has had the pleasure of serving on numerous San Francisco Bay Area college and high school voice faculties, leading workshops, and maintaining a private voice studio. Her own wellness journey led her to become an instructor and teacher trainer of The Dailey Method, alignment-focused barre and indoor cycling as well as a two-time marathoner. In addition to her M.M. in Vocal Pedagogy, Shauna holds certifications in yoga (RYT-500), myofascial release (certified Roll Model Method practitioner), and meditation studies in the Theravada tradition. Known for his versatility as a violist, Louis Privitera maintains a  balanced career as an active chamber musician and educator. A founding member of the Tetra String Quartet, Louis has toured extensively as a  performer and teaching artist throughout the Southwestern United States,  Brazil, Ecuador, and Germany. A passionate educator, Louis is a proud studio teacher of students of all ages, some of which have gone to study music at universities and conservatories throughout the United States. He has held faculty positions at Arizona State University, Arizona School for the Arts and at Rosie’s House, a music academy serving underprivileged youth throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. Recent teaching engagements include the American String Teachers Association national conference as well as the Summer Pre-Collegiate Studies Program at Stanford  University.  Louis earned a Master of Music Degree at the Peabody Conservatory and a  Bachelor of Music Degree from Arizona State University. His principal teachers include Victoria Chiang, Nancy Buck, and Cynthia Dubrow.
