Alex and Jim are back to discuss the myriad of quarterly earnings calls from companies like Netflix, Apple, Comcast (Universal), Discovery, and Sony to see how the streaming wars are playing out. DC Fandome is returning in 2021 after the success of the inaugural Fandome event in 2020 which might spell doom for San Diego Comic-Con. The 'Game of Thrones' spin-off 'House of the Dragon' has entered production and is set for a 2022 release. Another Sony film is heading to Netflix with Lin-Manuel Miranda's animated musical 'Vivo'. The Disney+ 'Percy Jackson' series is looking for its leading man and Green Lantern has been cast for a future HBO Max series. The duo decides to end the podcast with a rather NSFW discussion about Angelina Jolie... so enjoy that.

The Return of the Kings!! Too much? Yeah, I guess so. Alex and Jim waste time reviewing the abomination that was 2021's 'Mortal Kombat' before breaking down the first trailer for Marvel's 'Shang Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings'. The long awaited 'Mad Max: Fury Road' follow-up 'Furiosa' will FINALLY begin filming later this year as they begin pre-production for a June 23, 2023 release date. Sony Pictures Entertainment will not die as they sign a $2 billion deal with Disney to bring Spider-Man (and other Sony properties) to the Mouse House's various services and networks like Hulu, Disney+, ABC, and FX from 2022-2026. Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman join Marvel's 'Secret Invasion' series. Big-time producer Scott Rudin will "step back" from his various theatre, film, and tv productions after allegations of abuse and harassment surface from a Hollywood Reporter story. Finally, Vin Diesel will star in a Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots film from Universal and Mattel because God hates us.

Guess who's back... back again. Yes, Alex and Jim are back to discuss more turn-your-brain-off movies because the trailers for the ninth installment of the immortal 'Fast and Furious' franchise and Zack Snyder's 'Army of the Dead' dropped last week. One has us mildly intrigued while the other has us rolling our eyes. You can probably guess which is which. The duo make their predictions for how 'Invincible' and 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' will end before moving on to Will Smith's 'Emancipation' film production deciding to move from Georgia to Louisiana in the wake of Georgia altering its voting laws. As a result, they decide to give the listeners a brief crash-course in tax incentives for film productions in certain areas of the world. Other topics include the Hollywood Arclight Cinema and Pacific Theatres closing and saying they won't reopen, Lucy Liu getting cast as a villain in 'Shazam! Fury of the Gods', a Gundam movie gets a greenlight for Netflix, and Joe Cornish signs on to write and direct the film adaptation of superhero comic 'Starlight' for 20th Century Studios.

Alex and Jim discuss the banality that is 'Godzilla vs. Kong' and try to figure out the purpose of its human characters (to no avail). They transition to more intellectually stimulating news by examining the fallout of Warner Bros. cancelling the Ava DuVernay 'New Gods' film and James Wan's 'The Trench' Aquaman spin-off series. Why does WB keep announcing things that have no planned release dates or creative team behind them? Netflix also decided to shell out almost half a billion dollars for the rights to two sequels to Rian Johnson's 2019 surprise hit 'Knives Out' which will see Daniel Craig return as detective Benoit Blanc. Other topics include the overrated nature of existing IP when conversing about the production of a 'Thundercats' film and the genius of actor/American treasure John C. Reilly.

Alex and Jim gather together again after having to scrap the previous week's episode due to technical difficulties. They discuss the first two episodes of 'The Falcon and The Winter Soldier' and 'Zack Snyder's Justice League' (which Alex begrudgingly eats crow on). The duo also delve deep into the meteoric news that 'Black Widow' will go to Disney+ the same day as it is released in theaters on July 9th, 2021 while also ruminating on the larger effects the decision will have on the industry as a whole. Other topics include the plummeting stock prices of ViacomCBS and Discovery after the announcement of their streaming services, the announcement from Sony/PlayStation of a 'Ghost of Tsushima' movie, and Warner Bros. signing a deal with Cineworld/Regal Cinemas which details a 31-45 day theatrical release window for the studio's films starting in 2022.

Alex and Jim gather together once again to talk about 'Fast and Furious 9' moving to June 25 to go head to head with 'Venom 2' while Cinemark refuses to show Disney's 'Raya and The Last Dragon' in its theaters. Alamo Drafthouse filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy which leaves us asking just how soon will theaters be obsolete. This is compounded by Disney CEO Bob Chapek's remarks about shorter theatrical windows for Disney films. President Joe Biden also states that anybody who wants a vaccine will be able to get one by the end of May.
