This Tuesday 9th August marks 66 Years years after the Historic 1956 Women’s Anti Pass March to the Union Buildings in Pretoria. We reflect on the courage the women of that time led with and demanded their right to dignity and freedom of movement without passes.This morning we talk to 2 women who advocate for what is right in the challenges that face us today.

mounting social and economic challenges such as crime, poverty, hunger,
unemployment and the highest inequality in the world, we cannot continue
down the same paths that brought us here. We have been rudderless as a
country. A nation adrift like a ship at sea with no direction or impetus to
move. We find ourselves waiting. Each looking in the distance for some
messianic other to rescue us. The politics of the day and the leaders it has
produced look as tired and helpless as we feel.
