Soweto born, Kgaogelo Bopape, a grade 12 student from Horizon International High School made history when he won a bronze medal at the 61st International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) which was held in Russia this year. The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is the World Championship Mathematics Competition for High School students and is held annually in a different school.

Rising surfing prodigy, Ntokozo Maphumulo from KZN will be surfing the waves at Sun City’s Valley of Waves. Ntokozo, who is only 14 years old, has been competing within the surfing junior championships for a number of years and a product of the SA Surfing Legends High Performance Academy.

The Green Connection is an environmental justice organisation that works with coastal communities and small-scale fishers, who are dependent on the ocean for their livelihoods. They are saying more needs to be done in protecting our oceans.
