After a more than unusual night the guys approach the day with a new lens on things. Frank calls Romero, his handler to suggest the two other cops be invited into "the program" and Sonny attempts to steal booze from Ken.
It's not far into their day when the boys are called back to Farmer Jose's cattle ranch to get a peek at a strange body that Jose managed to kill, but as their conversation with Jose continues it becomes ambiguous as to just how far Frank is willing to go in order to silence the spread of unknown knowledge. Amidst all of this, Sonny notices an abandoned feed and seed store called "Feed: The Farmer's Friend" and as Sonny investigates, his brain begins to fracture, shattering in the attempt to digest that which cannot be known.

In the Druen house our investigators go sleuthing for information, most of it turns out to be unsettling, and all of it is from the foul rancid room of (missing) Tess Druen. With a map, some blood and an upset stomach the guys drive to the bridge, where not even a day before the parents of Tess drove off of. there they find a series of tracks that lead to the farmland of the town. Keeping their nose low to the scent they meet Jose a cattle farmer with an odd tale of children harassing his livestock... in fact... he has a corpse to prove it. after many revelations about these small children, shared stories, and cold shoulders the three boys finally call it for the night; and it is here where the tormentor of Franks dreams finally speaks to him.

News breaks that the Druen family are in the hospital after driving off a bridge, and while the buys intend to leave immediately time mysteriously slips past them. With no clear answers as to how they lost an entire days worth of time they eventually head to the local hospital, where they meet up with their EMT rivals and engage in wildly inappropriate banter with a grieving Mrs. Druen.
