What if you have a really hard past? How could you ever get past the person you used to be?

In today's episode, we look at the life of Saul and how he needed to see how God saw him and not even his actions, displayed his real identity, until he had an encounter with Jesus.

What if God calls you to do something seemingly crazy? Like I don't know, go to a killer's house and lay hands on him, so he would be healed. Is that too crazy? Ananias might have a little bit to say on the subject.

From crazy obediences to confronting past versions of ourselves, we will cover it all.

What does it mean to live past what is valid? How much should we validate our feelings, when we are going through a hard time?

We live in a world where we are trying to validate everything. And at the surface, I would agree that validating someone's feelings is sweet as they are in the processing part, of the trial. But what if we are getting too comfortable with validating actual lies? In our own lives as well.

Throughout this episode, we discuss the reality of going through a trial and how to acknowledge our feelings AND live PAST our current state. God heals, but what do you do when the process is not instantaneous?

In December of 2022, my whole world was shaken. I watched my very being slowly deteriorate, the joy that the Lord had given me, began to turn to fear and confusion. I was lost and I was desperate. Doctors and trusted advisors had no idea what was wrong with me, but I got worse and worse. Everyday the fatigue and pain got stronger. Blood tests came back normal, came back healthy. I was more confused than I had ever been and more seriously, my relationship with God was hurting. 

So there I was 

Dizzy

In pain 

Chronically fatigued 

On the strictest diets 

And even at times completely bed-ridden

And I was worshipping on that stage singing “I trust in God…”? It felt fake. Insincere.

I’ll never forget as I was crying out to my Heavenly Father “please save me! Heal me! Help me! He said 7 words so clearly

 “do you want to live past valid?”

So does God still heal? 

It’s a fair question and an important one that we should ALL ask ourselves. In the Bible, there are miracles and healings, but how would we know if the Truth could still be applied? And how could we even practically walk that out? 

SO THE OTHER DAY, I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM A WORK ERRAND, LISTENING TO MUSIC AT FULL VOLUME, AS ONE DOES. I HAVE MY WINDOWS ALL THE WAY DOWN SIPPING ON ICED COLD WATER FROM MY OWALA BOTTLE (WHICH 10/10 RECOMMEND) , ENJOYING THE SUNSHINE, AND CONTEMPLATING IF I SHOULD GO GET A SWEET TREAT. YA KNOW, THE NORMAL ROUTINE. UP AHEAD, I SEE THAT THE GREEN LIGHT IS TURNING YELLOW AND I SLOW DOWN THEN IT TURNS RED AND WE ALL STOP. AND I DON’T KNOW WHY BUT I GOT TO THINKING, WHY DO WE DO THIS? WHY DO WE JUST FOLLOW THESE RULES? I MEAN TECHNICALLY DRIVERS HAVE EYES SO WHY COULDN’T WE JUST “MAKE SURE THE COAST IS CLEAR?” WHY DID WE HAVE TO TAKE THAT TEST IN DRIVERS ED AND THEN SOMEONE HAD TO BE IN OUR CAR OBSERVING US ( MAKING US EXTREMELY NERVOUS) TO MAKE SURE WE LEARNED EVERYTHING SO WE COULD BE “SAFE” ON THE ROAD? SEE, I TOLD YOU I ASK THE QUESTION “WHY” A LOT? AND MAYBE YOU’RE LIKE KYLEEEEEE IT ISN’T THAT DEEP JUST DO WHAT YOU ARE TOLD AND YOU ARE GOING DOWN THIS RABBIT TRAIL FOR NOTHING, JUST STOP AT THE RED LIGHT. OKAY SURE. I’LL DO THAT. BUT I’LL ASK ANOTHER QUESTION REGARDING DRIVING, IF A 16 YEAR OLD KID ASKED ARE WE SUPPOSED TO FOLLOW ALL THE RULES? WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?

WHETHER YOU ARE SOMEONE WHO SPEEDS, SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T PUT THEIR SEATBELT ON, OR YOU ARE SOMEONE WHO RUNS RED LIGHTS. YOU MAYBE HAVE NOT REALIZED IT, BUT YOU ARE MAKING UP YOUR OWN RULES. AND WELLLLL THE COPS DON'T FOLLOW YOUR RULEBOOK.

HOW DANGEROUS IS IT TO MAKE UP OUR OWN RULES FOR WHAT IS RIGHT AND WHAT IS WRONG FOR OUR LIFE?
