Do you ever feel like you've been asleep for a long, long time and, no matter how hard you try, you just can't wake up? That is what the American dream feels like to me. It is seemingly so obtainable to some, yet perpetually unattainable mathematically. How much longer shall we continue standing upon the backs of the majority of people to prop up the big fat asses of a few? Is that any way to live, slaving away for the welfare of others who already have too much in the first place. Perhaps that is a dream for you, but for me it is a nightmare, a horror show of ineptitude. What good are these monopolies? What exactly do they provide us? We have far too much as it is; they are not providing a legitimate service at this point. In fact, they are providing a huge disservice to the society, serving as super spreaders for pandemics, and consistently failing to treat their workers like human beings. Whilst it is true that some of these chains are worse than others, there is almost always a vital area in which they are lacking when it comes to the welfare of their employees and customers, something the pretend to do well, and even boast about in ads. Am I to blame every single mishap, and blunder that these big businesses continue to make when it comes to our economic welfare on the very same government that was almost taken over by a bunch of drunken rednecks, college drop outs and has beens? Do you seriously expect me to believe that these bumbling politicians, who took months to write people a kind of $2000 check, could have any kind of plan to do anything other than increase their wealth? That's not a conspiracy; it's a dream, the American dream. You see, you've been asleep all this time. You went to bed, and you had a dream that when you woke up you would have everything you ever needed. Everyone has that dream. Unfortunately, you have to wake up from dreams, and that's the hard part. It really is difficult because in your dream no one else really matters that much. I mean, sure, maybe certain people matter to you in your dream, but, admit it, quite a few people get left out too. You don't really have to deal with a lot of difficult problems in dreams; you can just escape into it, and forget you ever fell asleep. That's what happens to most people, at least for a little while, sometimes even longer... Some dreams start out so wonderful that they blind you with their stunning beauty. You become entranced, and, the next thing you know, you are living your dream. It's funny how we think that there will be anything more than that, that things will somehow always work out. That isn't true. But, hey, at least we try. At least we're here. A lot of people probably thought that I wouldn't be here today. A lot of people probably think this is not the best of situations for me to be in. Perhaps they are correct. But, I will continue on because... Well, why not? I got a bad shake, and an even crappier promise. Can you believe that I once believed we were all created equal? That we would all be good and kind to each other? I was really big on that equality thing to, perhaps a little too much. However, I will not change myself for such a pitiful system that continues to encourage the bankrupting of the very people who hold it afloat. How can we move on to greener pastures when they put us out to pasture? If you do not care to see the deception, then that is your affair. I will not be blinded by the false promises of a dishonest nation. How can we be free when we are always treated as criminals? Do you not know that slavery is still allowed when one is in prison? Can you not feel your cells getting smaller, your rations getting lower, your chances of affording basics decreasing, your wages always disappearing? How much longer will it take before you feel the prison bars? Hopefully you'll wake up from the American nightmare because if you don't you may just find that the scam has been on you all along.
