  • WWII Project 11.18.18: Takling To Veterans About Why They Stand And What The Flag Means To Them
Welcome to the Americhicks WWII Project podcast.
Kim Monson and Molly Vogt are your hosts.
America just recognized its military veterans during Veterans Day.
America is unique in our recognition of our Veterans.
It is only fitting that we recognize these men and women who were and are willing to dedicate their lives to standing against tyranny and evil.
You'll be Grateful that you took the time to stop and listen to the stories of Beau Maier, Grant Rogers, Matt Vance, George Brauchler and Joe Lockard.
    Thank you Veterans.
    We thank you.
    We honor you.
We love you and we are eternally grateful to you.
    Dear Veteran:
I'm writing to say "Thank You" and,
    through me, there are
thousands of children speaking to thousands of Veterans.
Like us, you were young and carefree, but
when you were only twenty years old, Liberty called-called you, to say:
"I'm dying. Come and save me!"
And you arose, full of courage and zeal, to answer that call.
You underwent training day after day, for the "D" Day and
one day in June, you arrived by air and sea.
And you fought with the heart and soul of a free man,
so that we, too, might be free.
You saw your fellows fall on our beaches and in our fields and,
in spite of your grief and your injuries,
you stayed on and fought side-by-side with us.
And so, dear Veteran, I want to tell you,
regarding those dear to you who sacrificed their youth and
are now resting in peace, the sleep of the just, that,
WE ARE THE CHILDREN THEY NEVER HAD.
    And to you, dear Veteran,
who offered your most promising years for this our land, I say to you,
WE ARE YOUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF LIBERTY,
who want to say to you today, a heartfelt, "MERCI!"
    ~Jean Goujon~

  • 11.16.18:Tony Gagliardi On A New Business Damaging Sales Tax
Welcome to the Americhicks podcast. Kim Monson and Molly Vogt are your hosts. Agree or disagree, let's have a conversation!
Will Colorado's new sales tax rules put some small businesses out of business?
Tony Gagliardi, Colorado State Director for the National Federation of Business (tinyurl.com/yby3sdv4) explains.
Tony breaks down new rules, regulations and policies that hurt Colorado's small businesses and could possibly curtail consumer's choices.
Per Joe Rubino at The Denver Post, "Starting December 1, 2018, the Colorado Department of Revenue will require all retailers who ship goods to a buyer in Colorado to assess, collect and remit sales tax based on the buyer's address not where the business is located or the taxing jurisdiction that the buyer and seller have in common (tinyurl.com/yclckkqc).
The Rules are the same for Amazon trucking a book into the state or an independent screen printing business mailing a T-shirt from Aurora to Pagosa Springs."
Honestly, who thinks this stuff up? The big guys have the financial resources, attorneys and accountants to collect and remit this tax.
    The little guy?
He'll possibly go out of business, move out of state or not do business in Colorado, which ultimately will limit Coloradoans' consumer choices.

  • 11.16.18:Did You Know-Due Process For All-New Business Damaging Sales Tax
Welcome to the Americhicks podcast. Kim Monson and Molly Vogt are your hosts. Agree or disagree, let's have a conversation!
Why does Governor Hickenlooper hurt the people of Colorado?
Kim testified yesterday in front of the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission.
Governor Hickenlooper is trying to bring California emission standards to Colorado.
This will result in an increase in the cost of new vehicles and will mean a decrease in business and possible fines for new car dealerships.
Molly and Kim have been reaching out to voters for their thoughts and reactions to the recent mid-term election.
Have a "did you know" moment in the grocery store.
Innocent until proven guilty, due process, concepts that are for you and for those we might happen to disagree with.

Welcome to the Americhicks podcast. Kim Monson and Molly Vogt are your hosts. Agree or disagree, let's have a conversation!
Let's not just be prepared to share ideas with others, but lets be able to support and defend those ideas.
A recent incident in the Cherry Creek school district demonstrates that school choice is very important and an idea we should never give up on.
The city of Detroit is considering renaming two schools.
It seems as though it may be a politically based consideration.
Jason McBride (presidentialwm.com/americhicks) shares some insight on the stock market.
