Welcome to the Heart of the Matter podcast.
Kim Monson and Molly Vogt are your hosts.
Hour 1:
Kim and Molly are joined by Nosh Tarachand, a first generation immigrant from India.
Mr. Tarachand has lived in a number of different nations, and America is the place he has chosen to call and become a citizen of.
Having lived in various nations, he experienced life under Socialism.
Lets learn from his experience.
Nosh ends his interview with these words, "Yes, I am from India. But I am an American".
Also in studio and also speaking on the issue of immigration is Hellen Raleigh who immigrated from China.
2016 marks her 20th year as a legal immigrant.
It took her 17 years, following the process, to become a citizen.
Helen rightly note that the process is very un-American.
Your Americhicks are also joined on the phone by Lizzy Norris who immigrated from Panama 27 years ago.
Lizzy and your Americhicks discuss the Dream Act.
Also by phone and speaking on the Dream Act is Floyd Trujillo.
Floyd makes the very wise point that if a person has a problem with immigration, legal or illegal, do not take it out on the immigrant, take it out on the politicians.
Local dairy farmer Chris Kraft presents a view of immigration that you and I very well have never considered in depth.
Also joing the conversation is immigration attorney Jennaweh Hondrogiannis.
Hour 2:
Databasing our children.
Who is meant to care for our children, ourselves, or the government?
Two mothers, Missy and Dana, speak to the issue of mandated vaccination.
Laura Carno tells us about her fantastic new book "Government Ruins Nearly Everything" (www.amazon.com/Government-Ruins-Nearly-Everything-Reclaiming/dp/0692672753).
Molly and Kim will be going to Normandy for D Day where they will be conducting interviews and documenting their trip.
They could use some assitance in off setting the cost associated with the documentation effort.
If you are able to help in anyway please visit the Americhicks website and consider donating (www.americhicks.com/normandy-trip/).
We hear from MSG Lynwood Rabon who has served our country for 19 years, of which 15 were spent in the Ranger Regiment.
MSG Lynwood Rabon will be talking to us about the significance of the Ranger mission at Pointe du Hoc in Normandy during WW2.
