It's ok to be a Christian, as long as you keep in within the four walls of your church or within safety of your own home.  But, your religion has no place in the public square, government, education or in any other "secular" realm.  Yet, our Scripture commands us to go into ALL the world and preach the gospel.  We must not give up the public square, no matter what the consequences.  Joining us this week is an evangelist who has boldly proclaimed his faith only to an face angry, violent mob.  This week, Ben Schettler shares his experience sharing the gospel with people in New York City.  Ben not only encourages us to be bold in our faith, but models that courage for us.

Last week I had the chance to attend a meet and greet with Mitchell Berman, running for Congress in Wisconsin's first district.  I asked if I could as these questions for the podcast and he agreed.  First, I asked about his view concerning the division within the Democratic Party over democratic socialism and then his thoughts on how to win over people like myself in the middle.  Remember to vote on August 11!

I think we've all me that one self-anointed preacher, prophet or teacher who loves to judge others while amassing quite a following for himself through theatrics and cheap entertainment.  Social media seems to platform and aide much of these people.  Author and pastor Kevin Horath has written an excellent book providing all the red flags to check before giving credence to such a person.  Its well written, thoroughly Biblical, scientific and pastoral.  You need to buy this book!

Church hurt can be a broad term that covers quite a bit - everything from abusive clergy to people who just want to justify their sin.  In his latest book, Pastor Lee Snow provides a devotional workbook for those suffering from negative church experience.  The book provides the space one needs to heal - self reflection and Biblical truth.  Ultimately, we are pointed back to the Head of the Church - Christ Himself.  The local church is God's plan, but not every church follows God's plan.

Happy Independence Day!  On this Fourth of July, Ray Jewell and I spend the day in the theater watching Young Washington, a movie detailing the early military career of your first president.  So, listen in to see what we thought of the film.  After that, we got carried away talking about our favorite patriotic films in general.  Can you believe Ray has never seen National Treasure!!!
