Three Petitions for the Disciples’ Good (11-13)

- “Give us the bread for today [provision] (11)

- “and forgive us our debts [forgiveness] (12a)

“as we too have forgiven our debtors” (12b)

- “and do not lead us into temptation . . .

but deliver us from the evil one” [rescue] (13)

3. The Further Comment Concerning Prayer (14-15)

Your forgiveness will result in your Father forgiving you (14).

Your unforgiveness will result in your Father not forgiving you (15).
