You can have a perfectly good conversation with someone and have them forget you by the end of the day.It happens all the time. You're polite, you answer their questions, nothing goes wrong. And then nothing comes of it either. The guys who stick in people's minds aren't doing anything flashy. They're doing four specific things that most people skip entirely. In this episode I break down NUWA, the framework I use to help you go from someone people talk to into someone people remember. What I cover:Notice — remembering names and details, and why bringing something up later is the single highest-leverage thing you can doUnderstand — reading the room and matching the moment instead of steamrolling itWarmth — making other people comfortable around you, and why this matters more than being interestingAuthentic — the one most guys skip, and the reason the polished version of you is less memorable than the real oneThis works at school, at a new job, at a party, or anywhere you want to be more than a face someone vaguely recognizes.Subscribe for more!Follow me on IG: https://www.instagram.com/andrew.godwin_/Listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/033PvtZwYy3pjNpGC0fwQD?si=gg_stjXdRZaIsMgrnblW-wListen on Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-andrew-godwin-podcast/id6791649966Join my coaching waitlist: https://waitlist.andrewgodwin.co/
You walk into a room and people have already decided something about you. Not because of anything you said, but because of how you showed up.Most of that happens before you open your mouth, and almost nobody thinks about it.In this episode I break down what actually goes into a first impression and how to make a good one on purpose instead of hoping it goes well. What I cover:-The two things people are reading in the first few seconds, and it isn't what you say-Open and closed signals, and why you might be sending the wrong one without knowing-Why showing you're glad to see someone matters more than anything clever-How to introduce yourself without the whole thing coming out in one breath-What to do with your face, your tone, and your energy-Why the version of you that shows up guarded reads as unfriendly even when you're notThis works at school, at a new job, at a party where you don't know anyone, or walking into a room full of strangers. None of it requires you to be extroverted or the most interesting person there.Subscribe for more!Follow me on IG: / andrew.godwin_ Listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/033PvtZ...Listen on Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast...Join my coaching waitlist: https://waitlist.andrewgodwin.co/
You've been in a conversation where nothing lands. You're asking questions, they're giving you nothing back, and the whole thing feels like work.
Most of the time that isn't because you're bad at talking to people. It's one of a handful of habits that quietly kill conversations, and most people have no idea they're doing them.
In this episode I break down seven of the most common conversation blunders and give you a fix for each one. You'll probably recognize a few of them in yourself.
What I cover:
The Interrogator — asking question after question and getting nothing back, and how the Ask-Acknowledge-Relate framework gets you out of the interview
The Conversation Dominator — going on and on without checking whether anyone's still with you, and how to flip it back
The Dead-End Responder — one-word answers that leave people with nothing, and how to throw them the rope instead
Zero interest in the other person — why asking about something you don't care about isn't fake interest
Why reciprocal sharing is what actually builds connection, and what happens when only one person does it
Open and closed signals, and what you're communicating before you say a word
How to keep a conversation balanced when you're naturally quiet, or naturally a yapper
This works in middle school, high school, college, at a new job, or in a new city. None of it requires you to be extroverted, funny, or the most interesting person in the room.

Making friends feels like it should be automatic. You did it as a kid without thinking about it. Then you hit a new school, a new team, a new campus, a new city, and suddenly it's something you have to actually figure out.The good news is it's a skill, and the skills can be learned. In this episode I break down the Friendship Formula, my framework for going from stranger to friend in any situation. I also get into the research on how long friendship actually takes, and the numbers will probably surprise you. What I cover:• The hours it really takes: 40-60 to go from acquaintance to casual friend, 80-100 to become friends, 200+ to become close friends• Why proximity alone doesn't count, and what kind of time actually does• Be where they are: why shared-mission environments (teams, clubs, community service) beat everything else for making friends• Go there first: how to initiate, and why commenting on your environment is the easiest opener there is• Find overlap: asking real questions and relating back instead of interviewing someone• Play catch: reciprocal self-disclosure, and how conversations get deeper over time• Come back again: the follow-up most guys skip, and why it signals more than anything you say• Extend the invite: the single step that turns an acquaintance into a friend• When to stop investing: what three to five unreciprocated invites actually tells you• Handling social anxiety, the spotlight effect, and why awkward moments matter less than you thinkThis works in middle school, high school, college, at a new job, or in a new city. None of it requires you to be extroverted, funny, or the most interesting person in the room.Subscribe for more!Follow me on IG: https://www.instagram.com/andrew.godwin_/ Listen to my podcast on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/033PvtZ...Listen on Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...Join my coaching waitlist: https://waitlist.andrewgodwin.co/
Most people have plenty of conversations and almost no connection. You can talk to someone for twenty minutes, both be perfectly pleasant, and walk away knowing nothing real about each other. That's not a conversation problem. It's a connection problem, and it's fixable with the right tools. In this video I break down what actually moves a conversation from surface-level to something that sticks, and why "just be genuinely interested" is useless advice unless we break down what it looks like in practice. We have to get to a deeper level. What I cover:- Having an open mindset: why what you look for in people is what you'll find- Sending open signals: how people decide whether you're approachable before you say a word- Creating the connection point: the moment a conversation stops being small talk- Reciprocal self-disclosure: why you have to pay for what someone shares with your own sharing- The FORCE framework for follow-up questions (Future state, Opinion, Reason, Clarification, Emotion)- Being an outstanding listener: the part everyone claims to do and almost nobody actually doesThis works with family, friends, classmates, co-workers, and people you've just met. None of it requires you to be extroverted, funny, or interesting.Subscribe for more!Listen to the podcast on Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-andrew-godwin-podcast/id6791649966Listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/033PvtZwYy3pjNpGC0fwQD?si=gg_stjXdRZaIsMgrnblW-wFollow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/andrew.godwin_/ Join my coaching waitlist: https://waitlist.andrewgodwin.co/
Most people try to be interesting. The better move is making the other person a great conversationalist. In this video, I teach you some of the most critical aspects of a conversation, and more importantly...how to be the conversationalist that people love speaking with. I break down some key concepts that help you become easier to talk to and help your conversations flow more naturally:• Throwing the rope• Ask - Acknowledge - Relate• Pulling threads• Asking great follow up questions (zoom in, vibe, and next up)• Being an amazing listener• Acknowledgments / reactions These tools can be used in conversations with family, friends, co-workers, acquaintances, and even strangers. In this video, I break down how we develop our personalities, and how you can start to improve yours as early as today. You'll learn how to assess your current personality, and identify what's working well for you. Then I encourage you to consider how you demonstrate those traits in your day to day. I also discuss how you can learn to develop new personality traits by observing others, identifying your gaps, and using deliberate practice to design a personality that feels genuine to you. Lastly, I discuss a concept called "the mismatch problem", which outlines how people don't always see us as we see ourselves, and what you can do to combat it. Subscribe for more!
