We've all heard the phrase "the calm before the storm". But that phrase just invokes worry on what's coming next. It implies that we are never to remain calm because there's always a storm around the corner. That we must never be content where we are now, because everything could change in a blink of an eye. Sure everything can change in a blink of an eye. But I will relish in my contentment knowing that I found my happiness where I am now and not worry what comes next, because I know where to find my happiness again. I believe in the calm after the storm. I welcome the peaceful waters and soft breeze. It is only after the chaos you can find heaven in the calm. I will never swim in troubled waters ever again. I have learned to be grateful in the smallest of things and I will rest in peace while alive.

I want to be openly honest and a little vulnerable with you today. I've been going through some things. It started to surface during the writing of my book *The Calcification of a Volatile Life. Everything I wrote about is something I personally have lived through. I left a while lot of nasty things out, because I felt it violated my family's personal life. Now I am convinced that being completely honest about everything is not only going to make me feel better, but it's also going to help someone else out there going through the same thing. I got this reading off of a site that I follow on Instagram @sheonthetipofhertongue. It perfectly describes how women are meant to be all things. I recently found myself transported back in time after reading a certain chapter in a new book I bought over the weekend. It reminded me of a certain night, when a chance meeting almost caught me off guard. It's so tragic that women have to constantly keep watch over who they give their affection to. So many predators that come in all shapes and sizes. My advice to you is just remain your true self and honor every feeling that doesn't sit right with you. So many of us have been taught that being happy and content isn't the way to live. That we need that constant adrenaline rush of feeling excited about everyday. I find that feeling excited is needed to keep us going at times, but happiness is always there to have our backs. It is our safety net. What may seem boring to some, may be exciting to others. We need to stop comparing and listening to what others tell us we need in our lives. Our lives are uniquely different in every way. Be happy in your choices that make you a better person. No matter how boring they seem to someone else. Be excited in your search for your true authentic self. Happiness will outlast excitement in the end. Just because their family does not mean they are your people. Would you choose some your family members as friends? Would they choose you?
