In the second episode of The Animal Rising Podcast Rory had the pleasure of talking to Damien Mander. He is a former sniper for the Australian special forces and now an activist based in Zambezi National Park, where he founded the all-female anti-poaching group Akashinga. In the conversation, Damien shared his thoughts on the climate and nature crises, human nature and the reality of hunting in Zimbabwe.

In the first episode of The Animal Rising Podcast Rosa had the pleasure of talking to Wayne Hsiung of Direct Action Everywhere (DxE). In their conversation they discussed open rescues and their purpose, changing social norms, breaking the law versus making the law and many more. 

Wayne Hsiung is facing felony and misdemeanour charges at the #SonomaRescueTrial which is starting on 8th September 2023. He and two other defendants are being charged after rescuing chickens and ducks during 2 separate nonviolent actions. 

Animal Rising has been advocating for a sustainable transition for a long time, but we want to know: HOW exactly can we achieve a kinder, more just food system?
