The work of a medium sometimes goes into territories that are challenging for all humans. Because the situations can involve violence and loss of life. Underlying our perception of these tragedies in human experience runs the path of the soul which - at least for me - is above my pay grade. As a medium, it's not about making sense of what's happened as it is more about holding space for an authentic connection of energy between all souls. Whether or not those soul contracts are still manifest in human form doesn't negate the strength of the connection at all. And at times a leap of faith is required out of belief systems and into pure energy to feel the grace and release of the human experience. So that the heart bond reveals itself as intact and as strong as ever.

The theft of 30,000 bees in Colorado this week is what got me going. I added in for good measure the projected blame by humans onto pangolins for somehow being responsible for the spread of coronavirus. All against the backdrop of how the human species can be so outrageously and egregiously cruel. To each other and without a doubt, to other Earthlings. While it's tempting to be distracted by the death throes of Shadow on the planet, it's more important than ever to anchor into the heart of all beings. And to know that separation is just an illusion.

Chief Joseph of the Nez Pearce said it best - "Every animal knows more than you do." The only ones we're really fooling is ourselves in believing that conservation of animals in the wild is best served by a zoo or aquarium. Our use of the euphemistic "putting them to sleep" in lieu of "compassionate euthanasia" only means that we're desperate to keep Shadow at a continual arm's length. Because not only can we not stand our own Shadow we can't stand to think of other beings having a shadow aspect either. And heaven forbid if the two should somehow meet in a sacred way at the end of an Earthling's life. We've got a ways to go, Humans, before we reach the level of Animal intelligence.

It's most definitely a magical/scary moment when Wolf locks eyes with you. Your soul is bared and they know in an instant who you are at the very depths of your being. Meeting one even when separated by a fence is no less humbling and energy-shifting. Our relationship with them is long and complex and currently some states have plans to reintroduce Wolf back into their natural habitat. Why? Because they're good for the Earth and should never have been removed by hunting, trapping and other actions. We've even blamed them for our removal of their natural prey's instinct to protect themselves via herd intelligence.

In a nutshell, anthropomorphism is giving human characteristics or attributes to Animals. Which in the moment feels good to humans because it reflects the light part of us - the "good" part. The shadow of this is that we then fail to appreciate and understand the very different and separate specific-to-Animal-species qualities. Because we're then also reminded of our dual predator/prey status on Earth. We expect them to be like us and when they aren't, we can sometimes directly and indirectly punish them for our mis-perception!

Chances are good that you think of yourself as a pet owner. Think again! You're actually in a relationship with a sentient being of a different species. And even if they do lick themselves in places you can't they're just as smart as you - probably more - when it comes to managing your relationship with them. Most humans have a really unique way of distancing ourselves from our role in what causes speed bumps in relationships. Definitely with other humans - does the blame game come to mind - and most especially with our animal companions. In 80% of the cases of "animal behavior issues" humans are (at times unintentionally) the root cause. Take a look (which costs you nothing except your ego) to see where you have contributed to a "bad dog" or "naughty cat". You're in there - I promise.

Separation and isolation between light and shadow on Earth simply isn't possible as much as humans try to make it so! Each is part of the other. Animals know this and as such, enjoy a more balanced perspective in their experience of what is occurring in Australia right now. Even the massive loss of Koala life on the planet when viewed through the eyes and heart of Koala leaves room for animal experience grief and light being neutrality. Floating lightly above both aspects yields enormous room for deep compassion - a good place to be.
