This past weekend on October 18th there was a nation wide protest event called ‘No Kings Day’. Maybe you heard about it. Millions of people came out in opposition to Trump and his authoritarianism. So a friend and I attended the protest happening in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to ask people some questions.

‘Every Living Breathing Moment‘ by Grant Steller

This week I Zoom called my friend Rachel to discuss her recent hiking trip to Machu Picchu in Peru. We start by talking about an interesting book rec centering on Spirituality. Then she explains the wondrous moments of the trek and some things she learned about the Inca. This sparked my curiosity so I did some research to learn more about them. I have a long interlude here explaining some important historical context about the Inca. What happened to the Inca? How long did their civilization span? Geographic range of the Incas? How did they build their architecture and giant structures? Is any of this knowledge contested or still undetermined?

Sorry for the abrupt ending. I had to splice this recording up quite a bit.

(2.6.25) I have a backlog of recordings that I’ll be releasing soon in an effort to get up to date.

I connected with a very important person to me for this discussion. The topics herein were wide ranging. I recapped my recent trip to cover the January 20th Innauguration of President Trump, where we set out to talk to protesters. Our conversation also delved into our country’s disgraceful attitudes and policies towards people who are unhoused. We spend a bulk of the time theorizing about how society is constructed, by whom and who does it serve, with a focus on where we as regular human beings can build from here.
