Washington State just crossed a line voters have defended for nearly a century. On March 30, 2026, Governor Bob Ferguson signed Senate Bill 6346 into law, creating a 9.9% tax on personal income above $1 million per household, effective in 2028 with payments starting in 2029. This video breaks down exactly how it happened, why it matters, and what comes next.
Voters have rejected a state income tax eleven times since 1934. Yet in 2024, Initiative 2111—which banned income taxes—was passed by the legislature as a statute, allowing it to be reversed two years later. That reversal is SB 6346. Lawmakers openly acknowledged this shift, with leadership stating the public shouldn’t expect the tax to remain limited to millionaires.
The bill includes major structural issues: a marriage penalty from the flat $1M threshold, taxation of pass-through business income affecting most small businesses, no loss carry-forward protections, and “phantom income” taxes on profits never received.
The process also raises concerns. An emergency clause blocked a public vote despite the tax not taking effect for years. At the same time, the state plans to hire roughly 300 employees to administer the tax, costing hundreds of millions—suggesting long-term expansion.
Meanwhile, state spending has surged 129% in twelve years, and business leaders are already considering leaving.
Finally, four major battles are underway—legal challenges, a referendum fight, a repeal initiative, and federal protections. The outcome may ultimately depend on upcoming Washington Supreme Court elections.

What happens when you refuse to stay silent in the face of government overreach?
In this powerful episode, we sit down with Greg Anderson—former U.S. Marshal, Army Ranger, and entrepreneur—who went viral in 2020 after speaking out against mandates he believed violated constitutional rights. What followed was a life-changing moment: losing his job, gaining national attention, and stepping into a mission rooted in integrity, self-reliance, and truth.
This conversation goes far beyond headlines. We break down how government overreach impacts everyday Americans—from law enforcement to small business owners—and why fear, financial pressure, and bureaucracy keep people from pushing back. Greg shares firsthand experiences navigating a system that, in many ways, feels increasingly out of control.
But this isn’t just about politics—it’s about mindset. We dive into resilience, leadership, and what it really means to stand by your values when it costs you everything. From building businesses under pressure to preparing for extreme challenges like rowing across the Pacific, this episode is a raw look at what it takes to live with conviction.
If you’ve ever questioned where the line is between authority and freedom, this conversation will challenge you.
🎧 Listen now and decide for yourself: Has government overreach gone too far?

We talk through real examples of buyers getting priced out overnight, why mortgage rates could climb back into the 7% range, and how global events are quietly shaping local real estate. You’ll also learn how top agents continue to win—even in uncertain markets—and what separates those who struggle from those who adapt.

But the real conversation is bigger than just one budget cycle. What happens when government spending grows faster than revenue? And who ultimately pays the price?
In this episode we unpack the policies, the politics, and the potential consequences so you can understand what’s really happening behind the headlines.

Did Washington just change the rules of the game?
For decades, Washington State has been known as one of the few states without a traditional income tax. But recent policy moves are igniting a fierce debate across the state. Critics argue that lawmakers have effectively pushed through a Washington State income tax, despite years of voter resistance and repeated ballot measures rejecting it.
In this episode, we break down exactly what happened, why it matters, and what it could mean for the Washington economy, real estate market, investors, and everyday residents.
Is this really an income tax?
Why are policymakers framing it differently?
And could this trigger an exodus of wealth, businesses, and investment from Washington State?
We also dive into the bigger picture: how tax policy affects housing prices, job growth, population movement, and long-term economic stability. If you own property, run a business, invest in real estate, or are considering moving to Washington, these changes could have serious implications.
The Pacific Northwest has been one of the hottest economic regions in the United States for years—but policy shifts like this can reshape markets faster than most people expect.
Listen in as we unpack the Washington State income tax debate, explore what could happen next, and discuss how residents and investors should be thinking about the future.
