Zach is one of the amazing individuals that I have had the privilege to work with over the last several years. I wanted to share his brilliance and get this podcast to reach some of the widest ranges of topics possible. Zach is an informational guide throughout nearly any topic. Everything that I am curious about, he seems to have an answer for it. If not, he finds the answer.

I have been able to watch him grow over the years and we have always had some of THE most fascinating conversations. Eventually, he agreed to come on the podcast and we had yet another amazing chat. I wanted him to share how qualitative movement has improved his life.

This is one of my FAVORITE episodes so far, and you will think so too. Former Professional Tennis Player, and good friend, Xander and Austin have a wide-ranging conversation. An essential topic for all athletes, the transition out of sports is something that we continue to discuss with Xander as he embarks on the next chapter of his journey. If there was an "it" for getting better, Xander has it. He has model behavior for being on the path of mastery and I am SO excited to see how that passion and energy now gets transferred to coaching, nutrition, and whatever else his path may put in front of him.

New blog series from Apiros athlete and former tennis pro, Xander Centenari. Xander is a prime example for what it means to dedicate one's life to their craft. This series will follow his path as he makes the transition every athlete must make from sport to "real life." This podcast is different. I've had some requests for me to read an article I wrote recently in podcast format. The subject of the podcast is Philosophology, a term I will define within the article.

The first two paragraphs:

We are being led by the blind and uninformed. There is a virus infecting our culture and growing to epidemic levels. Our social patterns of value have tipped the scales towards ignorance. This plague is Philosophology, and it has the world of sports in a death grip.

Robert Pirsig birthed the term Philosophology in his book, Lila. He writes, "Philosophology is to philosophy as musicology is to music, or as art history and art appreciation are to art, or as literary criticism is to creative writing. It's a derivative, secondary field, a sometimes parasitic growth that likes to think it controls its host by analyzing and intellectualizing its host's behavior." Philosophology is rapacious in academic, medical, coaching, and training institutions because it is easy to teach. It has spread so much further than when Pirsig wrote about it in 1991.

Loren Anderson is directing one of the best volleyball clubs in the country from Boise, Idaho. He's doing unorthodox things that result in kids being better people, better athletes, and having more longevity within their sport. He isn't afraid to challenge norms and stray from the pack.
