When Jesus teaches his followers to pray, he introduces them to a Heavenly Father who is HOLY. 

What does that mean for us? Here are a few things to consider. 

Prayer is addressed to the "Heaven dwelling" Father. Heaven does not distance us from God, it makes Him present where-ever, and when-ever?

Jesus teaches his followers/students that prayer is a conversation with GOD, God who is OUR FATHER. This has a personal tone that Jesus regularly takes in his own conversations and here shares with us. He shares is it with us all and seems to suggest that prayer is not "private" as we often think of it today, it is an activity we share with each other.
