Many of us as Christians have a negative outlook when it comes to hearing or saying NO. Mainly because attached to the word are feelings of fear and rejection. By denying someone else our knowledge, time, or a helping hand, we feel like bad Christians. And while we are taught to esteem our brothers and sisters in Christ higher than ourselves finding balance are just as important. Ministry burnout is real and if we don't learn the art of what my daughter refers to as a "heavenly" no, we'll find ourselves turning away from the things that once brought us joy, peace, and a sense of purpose.
